Product Review: SheaMoisture Braid-Up Conditioning Gel

I have used many SheaMoisture hair products and they usually work amazing well. This SheaMoisture Braid-Up Conditioning Gel is the latest addition to my haircare products collection. Myself and my daughter usually have our hair in a protective style, so this Braid-Up Conditioning Gel by SheaMoisture has been put to the test numerous times already. For those who have never heard of this haircare product, here is a brief product description for you.

Create simple or complex braided styles with effortless control using this conditioning gel. Super-hydrating Jojoba Oil, soothing Ucuuba Butter and Carrot Seed Oil blend in this non-greasy formula that softens , improves workability and adds suppleness so hair resists breakage caused by tugging and tightness. I have used this SheaMoisture Braid-Up Conditioning Gel for months now and I really like it. There are more pros than cons with this hair product, which is good.
PROS
1. I love the fragrance. It has a sweet light fragrance that lingers on for ages.
2. This product is quite light on the hair. It gives a firm hold but it does not heavy.
3. It is super easy to use, absorbs into the hair quite quickly.
4. I love the natural ingredients. My hair is natural and I prefer using natural hair products only. This works great for my hair texture (I am a 4C).
5. It moisturises and deep conditions the hair, which makes it a great multi-tasking hair product.
6. This product is colour safe and sulfate free.

1. It flakes so I use a little each time.

My Natural Hair Update

I have been rocking my natural hair for some years now and I am loving it. It took some time to fully transition from my chemical damaged hair to my natural hair now. I didn’t go down the big chop route  and that is partly why it took forever to transition. But I am happy with how my hair is currently looking. There was some hair breakage earlier in the year, thanks to a crotchet braids hairstyle I had on that wasn’t right for my hair. But it is slowly growing back to how it was prior to that and I am hoping to see a significant hair growth before the end of the year. I have so many hairstyles I need to try. I just need my hair to grow some more.

My greatest hair muse is my beautiful daughter. Her hair is hair goals for me. She was born with amazing hair and I have found it very easy to nurture and maintain for her. Her hair reminds me of how my hair was when I was her age. It was natural, soft, long and chemical free. Her hair is one of the reasons why I decided to be free from all hair chemicals and damaging hair weaves. I have never seen any hair so beautiful. This photo does not do her hair justice.

If I could go back in time, I would take better care of my hair. But since I can’t, I have to ensure I right my hair wrongs. So far, it has been a journey I would never forget. It just confirms the saying that whatever you nurture grows and stays healthy.

My hair routine is very simple. I don’t do much with it or to it. I usually have my hair in cornrows and I wear wigs. Sometimes I have my hair braided in big weaves or crotchet braids, which I have now stopped doing because crotchet braids damaged my hair. I think the big fat needles used put too much pressure on the hair. So although it is a quick way to have your hair done, it is not the best for my hair type. For now, I am sticking to simple corn rows style. They suit me and mine. And that is what I have on at the moment.

CONS

None. This Universal Pressed Powder by LOLA Makeup is so amazing.

 

Strobbing Brush

This Strobbing Brush is great for blending. I love it.

 

The Strobbing brush is designed to set and highlight the face for a perfected-skin finish. Use with cream, liquid or powder products to apply, blend, set and highlight the skin.

 

PROS
  1. I found this brush very easy to use. It is the right length.
  2. This Strobbing Brush blends makeup perfectly.
  3. It is affordable at £13.95.

 

CONS

None. I really like this Strobbing Brush.

 

Overall, I recommend both the Universal Pressed Powder and the Strobing Brush. They are great makeup products, definitely worth trying! I think they do the job beautifully and are super affordable too. What is there not to like?
