Lazy Dogz – A Christmas Gift Idea

The chill is in the air, and I am spending more time indoors these days. The weather outside is not playing at all (It is raining cats and dogs as I type this post!), so I like to keep warm inside. This miserable weather has me stuck on Netflix, watching documentary after documentary. I am loving documentaries at the moment for some weird reason. I have just seen Finding Fela, and I loved it.

This weather also has me drinking hot drinks like they are going out of fashion. I am really trying to keep warm without spending a fortune, but it has been tricky. So you can imagine my excitement when I received this Lazy Dogz Slippers in the post.

I have fallen so in love with my new luxury designer slippers. They look amazing and feels even more amazing.

Lazy Dogz are the slipper specialists. They have been in the business since 2001, and they specialise in designing the most stylish footwear that scream comfort and luxury. The brand recently launched a new winter range for both men and women, and every pair is a cosy beauty. It took me a long time to settle on this pair – Gracie Gold, because I wanted them all! But this real suede beauty won my heart at last. I like the gold colour, the branded sole looks so beautiful, and don’t even get me started on the shearling wool lining. My feet feel so good in them. It even has a memory foam!

The presentation is also another feature I love about this Lazy Dogz slippers. I really like the branded box, gift tag and ribbon. It is a perfect Christmas gift idea for men and women. I am sure a pair of Lazy Dogz would bring a smile to anyone’s face this season. I think they are super cute.

This Christmas, Lazy Dogz is supporting Manchester Dogs’ Home as they recover from the tragic fire that occurred last year. For every pair of slippers sold until Christmas Eve 2016, Lazy Dogz will be donating £1 to Manchester Dogs’ Home. Isn’t that great? I love brands that give something back.

OOTD: Something Blue

Blue is one of my favourite colours. I really like the midnight blue shade as well as navy blue. I think they are pretty colours, so I always look out for them when shopping. I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful blue dress some days ago. I was so eager to style it. Luckily I had complementary pieces already thanks to my capsule wardrobe. Styling this dress was as easy as A B C.

This stunning dress is by QUIZ Clothing. It is a great option for a Christmas party this year. QUIZ Clothing has launched a new collection of going out dresses in various styles, so it is definitely worth checking out. There are so many stylish dresses available.

Apart from the dress, everything else is an “Oldie but a Goldie” and has appeared on Fashion and Style Police previously. The blue jacket is one of my favourite jackets. It is quite old, I got it a couple of seasons ago but it still looks amazing. The shoes and sunnies I got some weeks ago, and I have had the clutch bag for a bit now.

I don’t shop as often as I used to anymore, but when I do shop, I go for quality and I try to fill out the gaps in my wardrobe. For example, I noticed I had a massive gap in the underwear department recently, and I have had that on my mind for a bit but kept forgetting to check for deals. So I remembered over the weekend and went all out on Victoria’s Secret website. The bras were half price, so I was super excited because I needed to buy a couple. That is the kind of shopping I do now; filling in the wardrobe gaps. But I do spoil myself from time to time.

Keira Knightley Covers Harper’s Bazaar December 2016

The beautiful Keira Knightley covers Harper’s Bazaar December 2016 issue and she looks amazing on the cover as usual. I have had my eye on this British actress for years now. I admire her passion and dedication to her career, and I love the fact that she hasn’t aged at all. I wonder what these celebs are drinking. Whatever it is, I want it!

I have seen many of Keira Knightley’s movies. My favourites are Pride & Prejudice, Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean and Atonement. I think she is a talented actress, and I like the fact that she is not everywhere (if that makes sense). I can’t remember the last time I have seen her on a magazine cover, or read her story in the press. She is so elegant, a true English Rose.

In an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 31-year-old talks candidly about gender inequalities, childcare and her family.

Here is a quote from her interview –

On the cost of childcare:

‘One of the things that is so shocking in this country is that childcare is unbelievably expensive. It should be, it’s an amazing thing if you’re good at it. It’s incredibly difficult, it should be well paid. But there is no option for a woman to go back to work unless she’s being paid really, really well and can afford full-time care before [her child can] get into nursery. I think I’ve become unbelievably aware of that and how lucky I’ve been to be able to afford really good childcare, because otherwise it would be at least four years out of my career. I wouldn’t be able to get back to where I’d been if I’d taken four years out. I think that’s the same for most women. And I think that’s really hard.’

I can so relate. We parents all know how expensive childcare can be in the UK. I couldn’t afford to go back to work after having my kids. The childcare fees (a registered nanny is what I wanted) would have been more than salary then so it was pointless. Plus I HATED my job and the long commute. It wasn’t what I trained in, so I didn’t have a proper career to miss.

My decision to not return back to my old job was very easy to make but the journey has been far from easy. I am not Keira Knightley, so the road has been rough but I am happy I went through it because it made me more determined to succeed.
