With our busy our lives are, holidays have become necessities. It is great to get out of the regular routine and do something elsewhere for a change. Holidays are important. They help us relax and unwind. Holidays also help us reconnect with loved ones. I enjoy going on vacations. If I could afford it, I would go somewhere special every month.
I am wearing Quiz Clothing from top to bottom.
I have decided to do as much travel as I can this year and going forward. There are many cities/countries I am yet to visit to fully explore, and I really can’t wait to get on with it. I would love to see the world and appreciate all it has to offer.
Why Holidays are Important
I get to relax
Staying in hotels whenever I am on holiday is important to me. Even when I have a free place to stay with family/friends, I rather stay in a hotel. We work very hard on a good day, so when on holidays, we like to put my feet up and do nothing.
I don’t want to do anything while on holidays so the idea of room service, breakfast in bed, someone cleaning up after me (for a change) is right up my street. I would rather spend the money and unwind properly.
See the world
Going holiday means I get the opportunity to explore a different city. I want to see the world, and so far, I have seen quite a bit of it. I have visited Dubai, Oman, New York, Maryland, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Düsseldorf, Miami, Ireland and many more.
There are still a couple of countries on my travel list I need to see. I am slowly ticking them off one by one. The world is beauty and it would be a shame not to explore its beauty. I love every city I have seen for different reasons. Some are loved for their urban architecture, others for their party spirit, amazing food and great shops.
The kids are wearing Jasper Conran and Next Clothing.
Create memories
I enjoy holidays because I get to create memories with my family. I take a lot of photos and make videos to keep these memories fresh in mind. Souvenirs are always bought as well. I never leave a city without a souvenir. It is my own way of taking something back home with me to remember the holiday.
Improve your health
Holidays help reduce our stress levels, which will in turn improve our health. Health is wealth, so taking time off to holiday is very important. Many of us are extremely busy juggling childcare, work, running a business and dealing with life in general. It can get so busy that all the hustle and bustle can begin to take a toll on your health. We need to remember to take things easy for the sake of our health.
Research has now shown that those who take less than one holiday every two years are more likely to suffer from depression and stress/burnout. It has also shown that those who fail to take annual holidays have a 21% higher risk of death from all causes and were 32 percent more likely to die of a heart attack.
I am not surprised by this results. I find that I laugh more while on holiday. Maybe it is the change of environment that amuses me or just a change of routine that makes me happy. Whatever it is, I like it. It keeps me in a good mood, even these Saturday quotes can’t put me in such a happy mood.
If all these does not make you book a holiday, I don’t know what will. I know many of us may struggle with going abroad on holiday, but you can holiday in your country or even in your city. There is a lot to see regardless of where you are based. You just need to find it.
It is also a good idea to schedule in some vacation time if you get the chance to go on a work trip or wedding abroad. Make the most of every new place you visit. Even if it means having an extra day or 2 set aside to be a tourist in the area, that will do you a whole lot of good. Whenever I go away for a wedding abroad, I make time to explore the city. I won’t want the only memory of my trip to be that of princess brides. That won’t be smart at all.
Why do you think holidays are important?
*Collaborative post.
in Japan the workers are given special leave to go camping into the wild so that they can perform better when they get back.. Nature is the best healing medicine.
Yes it is 😊
🙋
I lived in France for 6 years, and they get a minimum 5 weeks off for holidays à year. People would book their vacances 8-10 months in advance…. Something we should definitely take a note from their book.
I agree completely. Thanks for stopping by.
I love holidays, I always feel so much more relaxed and also so much healthier too!
Me too!
I’m from the US and at first I thought you meant holidays like Christmas and New Years! I was confused until I read a little further, but I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m a finance blogger and my site just launched an article about 3 things you should spend your money on, one of which is experiences. Research has shown that people who invest in experiences over things are happier. Hope you get to travel more!
Yes I agree. I spend more on experiences these days than things. I hope we all get to travel some more. Thanks Tawnya.
I completely agree that holidays and breaks are so important! Hopefully ill eventually be able to have one
I am sure you will. Thanks for reading.

I think holiday are important for the same reasons as you. They are so good to relax and expand your horizons! But mainly relax ahah! I’d need to go somewhere hot and sunny and sleep on beach every day!

Holidays are so important. Great for our mental health.
We just came back from Iceland and honestly, even though it was an adventure trip it was relaxing. I love learning about other cultures and showing my kids how other people around the world live.
Oh nice. I love learning about other cultures too. Thanks Milena.
