Why Holidays are Important

With our busy our lives are, holidays have become necessities. It is great to get out of the regular routine and do something elsewhere for a change. Holidays are important. They help us relax and unwind. Holidays also help us reconnect with loved ones. I enjoy going on vacations. If I could afford it, I would go somewhere special every month.

I have decided to do as much travel as I can this year and going forward. There are many cities/countries I am yet to visit to fully explore, and I really can’t wait to get on with it. I would love to see the world and appreciate all it has to offer.

Why Holidays are Important

I get to relax

Staying in hotels whenever I am on holiday is important to me. Even when I have a free place to stay with family/friends, I rather stay in a hotel. We work very hard on a good day, so when on holidays, we like to put my feet up and do nothing.

I don’t want to do anything while on holidays so the idea of room service, breakfast in bed, someone cleaning up after me (for a change) is right up my street. I would rather spend the money and unwind properly.

See the world

Going holiday means I get the opportunity to explore a different city. I want to see the world, and so far, I have seen quite a bit of it. I have visited Dubai, Oman, New York, Maryland, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Düsseldorf, Miami, Ireland and many more.

There are still a couple of countries on my travel list I need to see. I am slowly ticking them off one by one. The world is beauty and it would be a shame not to explore its beauty. I love every city I have seen for different reasons. Some are loved for their urban architecture, others for their party spirit, amazing food and great shops.

Create memories

I enjoy holidays because I get to create memories with my family. I take a lot of photos and make videos to keep these memories fresh in mind. Souvenirs are always bought as well. I never leave a city without a souvenir. It is my own way of taking something back home with me to remember the holiday.

Improve your health

Holidays help reduce our stress levels, which will in turn improve our health. Health is wealth, so taking time off to holiday is very important. Many of us are extremely busy juggling childcare, work, running a business and dealing with life in general. It can get so busy that all the hustle and bustle can begin to take a toll on your health. We need to remember to take things easy for the sake of our health.

Research has now shown that those who take less than one holiday every two years are more likely to suffer from depression and stress/burnout. It has also shown that those who fail to take annual holidays have a 21% higher risk of death from all causes and were 32 percent more likely to die of a heart attack.

I am not surprised by this results. I find that I laugh more while on holiday. Maybe it is the change of environment that amuses me or just a change of routine that makes me happy. Whatever it is, I like it. It keeps me in a good mood, even these Saturday quotes can’t put me in such a happy mood.

If all these does not make you book a holiday, I don’t know what will. I know many of us may struggle with going abroad on holiday, but you can holiday in your country or even in your city. There is a lot to see regardless of where you are based. You just need to find it.

It is also a good idea to schedule in some vacation time if you get the chance to go on a work trip or wedding abroad. Make the most of every new place you visit. Even if it means having an extra day or 2 set aside to be a tourist in the area, that will do you a whole lot of good. Whenever I go away for a wedding abroad, I make time to explore the city. I won’t want the only memory of my trip to be that of princess brides. That won’t be smart at all.

Why do you think holidays are important?

Bedding & Bedroom Comforts

My bedroom is my little sanctuary. I like to retreat to my little sanctuary when I need my sleep, or to relax. So I like my bedroom to look nice and chilled. I pay attention to my bedding and bedroom furniture. I have lost count of the number of bedding sets I own at the moment. I like my bedding smelling fresh and clean, so I change them quite regularly. I even got a bedding spray recently while holidaying in Amsterdam, and I have fallen in love with the fragrance.  There is nothing not to like. Show me someone who doesn’t like the smell of clean sheets?

I am currently lusting after a few pretty things for my bedroom. I have been snooping online like I always do and I am happy to see most stores have the summer sale going on at the moment so this is the perfect time to shop. Here are some of the items I am loving at the moment.

Fleurie Platform Valance £59.99 £39.99

This Fleurie Platform Valance bedding set by Yorkshire Linen is a true beauty. It look so posh and out of this world. I love the beautiful shade of gold. It is timeless and very elegant. It would look amazing in my bedroom and as this best part of it, is that it currently on sale, with a lighter price tag of £39.99. I can see myself buying this high quality bedding on Yorkshire Linen‘s website easily.

Faux Mohair Throw £20

This Faux Mohair Throw by Matalan will be a nice bedroom addition. And it would look amazingly beautifully paired with the Fleurie Platform Valance set above. I love the rose gold colour. And it looks like a soft, comfy throw to have around. At just £20, I see myself grabbing this too.

Debenhams White Pillow Top Duck Down Mattress Topper £100 – £185 £90 – £166.50

I see mattress toppers as bedroom essentials. They make the bed so comfortable. I recently came across this White Pillow Top Duck Down Mattress Topper by Debenhams, and I think I will be needing it. It is quite pricey but I believe it will be worth the price tag. It looks so good and I bet it will be quality stuff.

Sky Tv

Sky

Now I have never had a TV in my room but I think I want 1 now, even though our living room is just across the bedroom. Having SKY TV in our room would mean I would be able to watch some TV from the comfort of my bed on a big screen. That would be so cool! Do you agree?

What are your bedroom essentials? Sound off in the comment section please.
