Beauty Muse: Diana Ross

The stunning and talented American singer – Diana Ross is the Beauty Muse this August. I remember listening to Diana Ross while growing up. Her voice is beautiful and I love many of her songs. The Endless Love duet with Lionel Richie is one of my favourites. This beauty muse is a bundle of beauty and brains, and I am a huge fan.

Whenever I think of Diana Ross, I picture the big curly black hair, stunning dark eyes and shimmering dress. She always looks glamorous, I wonder how she does it. I have never seen her photographed looking ordinary. This beauty muse slays all day, every day.

Beauty Muse: Diana Ross

I have always wanted to know the beauty secrets behind this gorgeous woman, so I was happy to find an interview Ross had with Vogue.com. In the interview, she shared some beauty secrets. Here is an excerpt from Vogue interview:

Are there any beauty products you never leave the house without?
My “quick makeups” are jumbo eye pencils, really black black pencils, and mascara, maybe blusher and a light lip gloss, something nice for the day. If I’m just running to the market, I don’t do the makeup at all. I just put on some big dark glasses! I have a real life: I’m a mother and grandmother and auntie first before I am a celebrity. But, special occasions require something special, [like] playful, outrageous makeup.

The really black eye pencils make her beautiful pop even more. They suit her. I like my eye pencils really dark as well. Eye pencils in other colours never really stand out for me. I also love the dark glasses tip, I do that too especially now that the weather is warm and sunny.

What do you think of Diana Ross as a Beauty Muse? Are you a fan of her music?

I am so into organic products. My bathroom cabinet is filled up with natural organic products and I am really enjoying the process of trying different Vegan products. This product review post is all about the Organic Aloe Vera Gel by Aloe Pura. I have used this product for many months now, and it is really good. Aloe Vera products are usually very good for the skin and the hair. I have used different Aloe Vera products over the years and I like all of them. This Organic Aloe Vera Gel delivers as expected.

Charity of the Month: Sistah Space

The charity of the month this August is the one and only Sistah Space. I have been following the amazing work of this charity for many months after reading about the team in a book on coercive control, and I am happy to finally feature Sistah Space. For those who have never heard about Sistah Space, it is a charity that works with African and Caribbean women and girls who are victims of domestic violence or who know people who have experienced domestic violence.

Sistah Space provides advice and support to victims of domestic violence. The charity also provides practical help by providing hygiene products such as sanitary pads, panties, bras, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps and other essentials.

Charity of the Month – Sistah Space

This charity was founded in November 2015. It is a community-based non profit initiative set up to bridge the gap in domestic abise services for African heritage women and girls.

The Mission of the Charity

Our mission is to encourage African heritage survivors/victims to report abuse by providing a safe cultural venue for victims to disclose abuse in a confidential environment, and to encourage community integration.

It is always great to see a domestic violence charity dedicated to women from black and minority ethnic groups. Sistah Space is doing an amazing job by providing a safe place for women to come in and speak up. Many women are suffering in silence, this is why it is so important to talk about issues openly, so that does who need support can access them safely.

How to support Sistah Space

You can donate to the charity. No amount is too small and every little helps. To donate, click here. Also, fundraising is a great way to support the charity. You can find out more info on fundraising, click here.
