Anna Kendrick Covers Glamour Magazine February 2017

2017 is off with an amazing start with Anna Kendrick on the Glamour Magazine UK February 2017 issue. I love this cover a lot. I think she looks beautiful and the dress is banging! I can clearly see myself reading this issue.

I have followed Anna Kendrick’s career since her GIRLS days and I am blown away by how far she has come. She is in the new movie Pitch Perfect, and host of the Golden Globes 2017, I am super impressed.

Here are some excerpts from her interview with Glamour Magazine –

Should Celebrities Talk About “Issues”

“Well, it’s weird, isn’t it, because I feel like why would anybody want my ‘expert opinion’ on any of these topics? If you want to learn about intersectional feminism, read Roxanne Gay, don’t ask me, you know? I’m being asked to speak on these things when I’m trying to learn about them myself.”

I kind of see where she is coming from. Many seem to believe celebrities know it all and have all the answers to world issues. Well they don’t.

Sexism in Hollywood

“It shouldn’t be the most important conversation about sexism – because no one really wants to fucking hear actors talk about this, because we’re in such positions of privilege… I would love to hear more about sexism that exists in other fields and how we can address that – but we keep getting asked about it.”

I can also see where Anna is coming from with this response. I bet all actors are sick and tired of having this sexism question thrown at them.

Anne Kendrick Covers Marie Claire September 2016

Marie Claire Sept 2016

The beautiful Anne Kendrick covers Marie Claire September 2016 issue. I like this cover. It is quite different and an old school theme to it, which is a breath of fresh air. And I am a fan of Anne Kendrick. I love her movies – I find her really funny, and I enjoy reading about her.

In her interview with Marie Claire, Kendrick opens up her Hollywood career, how she is learning to toughen up at auditions and her family life –

My family was very into open communication’ she says, ‘Weirdly it had the side effect of making me unprepared for navigating the more political aspects of the adult world.’ Until, she tell us, an audition where she walked in and told the casting directors “I don’t really think that I’m right for this but I’ll read for you and if you want to bring me back on something else…” I had such a great response, I wish I’d done it from the beginning, instead of being like, [puts on a meek voice], “Thanks so much” [then deadpans] it was fun wasting both of our time.’

Apart from Anne Kendrick’s full interview which I am dying to read, I also find some of the other features on the magazine cover interesting. It is the fashion issue, so I would want to read all about that, and also read the ‘Your Style File’ post. This issue is currently in my to read pile and I am hoping to read it over the bank holiday weekend.

What do you think of this Marie Claire September issue? Are you a fan of Anne Kendrick’s movies? She has featured in What to expect when you are expecting, The Twilight Saga, Digging for Fire, and many more movies.

Thanks for reading and have a fab weekend.
