Dakota Johnson Covers Glamour Magazine UK March 2017

Dakota Johnson – the Fifty Shades of Grey star is the cover girl for Glamour Magazine March 2017 issue.

I really like this magazine cover. It looks very different from the other covers on the newsstands, which is a good thing. And Dakota Johnson looks very different on the cover too. I think she looks very beautiful. I love her makeup and hair a lot.

I know little or nothing about this cover star, I have seen the famous Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and I am not a fan of it at all. It made no sense to me, and the acting was not good enough in my opinion. There was a lot of room left for improvement. On that note, I don’t see myself buying this issue. But for those who may be thinking of grabbing it, here are some excerpts from Johnson’s interview with Glamour magazine.

On whether her parents have seen any of her movies –

“They haven’t because it’s such a tricky thing. It’s too uncomfortable for them. It’s one thing if a film has one sex scene in it, but with this, a large part of the premise is the arc of their sexual relationship, and I think that’s a little inappropriate for my family to watch.”

So sad her family can’t watch her biggest movie to date because of the very raunchy sex scenes.

On whether she can ever imagine a time when she thinks: “I wish I hadn’t done those films” –

“It comes in waves. But this project is not going to be my swan song. It has put my life on a path that I didn’t plan to go down, but I do feel proud of it. And the films have allowed me to do so many different projects and travel so much. In the end, Fifty Shades has plopped me in a world that I really wanted to be in.”

I guess Fifty Shades opened the door of fame for her. That is good.

What do you think of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie? Have you seen it? Are you a fan?

Anna Kendrick Covers Glamour Magazine February 2017

2017 is off with an amazing start with Anna Kendrick on the Glamour Magazine UK February 2017 issue. I love this cover a lot. I think she looks beautiful and the dress is banging! I can clearly see myself reading this issue.

I have followed Anna Kendrick’s career since her GIRLS days and I am blown away by how far she has come. She is in the new movie Pitch Perfect, and host of the Golden Globes 2017, I am super impressed.

Here are some excerpts from her interview with Glamour Magazine –

Should Celebrities Talk About “Issues”

“Well, it’s weird, isn’t it, because I feel like why would anybody want my ‘expert opinion’ on any of these topics? If you want to learn about intersectional feminism, read Roxanne Gay, don’t ask me, you know? I’m being asked to speak on these things when I’m trying to learn about them myself.”

I kind of see where she is coming from. Many seem to believe celebrities know it all and have all the answers to world issues. Well they don’t.

Sexism in Hollywood

“It shouldn’t be the most important conversation about sexism – because no one really wants to fucking hear actors talk about this, because we’re in such positions of privilege… I would love to hear more about sexism that exists in other fields and how we can address that – but we keep getting asked about it.”

I can also see where Anna is coming from with this response. I bet all actors are sick and tired of having this sexism question thrown at them.

I would love to read this issue. I am very interested in Anne Kendrick’s interview, and the other features on the cover look very interesting too.

Suki Waterhouse Covers Glamour Magazine UK December 2016

suki-cover_glamour_27oct16_pr_b_540x810

I can’t believe we are actually talking about a December 2016 magazine cover right now. It feels like yesterday I published the first magazine cover for the year.

Anyway, the lovely Suki Waterhouse covers Glamour Magazine December 2016 cover, with a very interesting pose. I don’t know much about her but I find her outfit and striking pose very interesting.

In her interview with Glamour UK, Suki discusses her single life, modelling career, social media and her business ventures. Here are some quotes from her interview:

Her single life –

“I’m on Raya [a dating app popular with celebrities, aka The Illuminati Tinder]. Me and my sister [Immy, also a model and actress] are on it. We just talk to each other instead of potential dates. I know that in the future I want to be in a committed, loving relationship and have kids. Even though I’m happy being single, I spend a lot of time dreaming about being in love. But right now, I’m building… I’m doing all these things for me. I don’t know if I have the tools to be in a relationship right now.”

Social media –

“It’s all grossly inaccurate,” she said. “Everything that’s put on social media is distorted. All these steps that you take to show everyone on the internet that you’re perfect.”

I agree with social media being a distorted view of life, but I don’t see it as inaccurate though. I just see it as a tiny, well-arranged version of real life and events.

This issue sounds right up my street. Apart from Suki’s interview, the party style article also looks like a good read. I can see myself grabbing it very soon.

What are your thoughts on this Glamour issue? Do you agree with social media being grossly inaccurate or distorted?
