Product Review: Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Eau de Parfum

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon

I am a perfume lover, always have and always will be. I love smelling good, and I like being around amazing smelling people. I collect a lot of perfumes but I don’t keep all the bottles, wish I had the space to keep them all. However, the only perfume bottle I am 100% going to be keeping for a long time think is my new Marc Jacobs Decandence, and if you have seen the bottle, you will know why. I will be writing a review on that perfume soon, so keep your eyes peeled, but for now, we are going to discuss Viktor & Rolf’s Bonbon Eau de Parfum.

I first came across the Viktor & Rolf perfume brand when I used their first perfume – Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, some years ago. That was my first time hearing of the brand, and the perfume was recommended by the sales girl at the perfume counter at that time. I decided to give it a go. Thank God I did, because I got to discover how amazing Viktor & Rolf perfumes really are. So when Bonbon was released, I knew I had to have it.

Viktor & Rolf

Here is how the brand describes this fragrance:

BONBON, a timeless sensation inviting a pure and absolute pursuit of pleasure. She who wears Bonbon, dresses herself in perfume whilst creating her own story. She is empowered, beautiful and complete.

Caramel characterizes the scent’s evolution. From inception to completion, the caramel notes mature from a sharp, edible top note to softer and milkier in the middle than darkening to add depth to the base note. A pure delight, a haute confection.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. The bottle is so beautiful and unique, shaped as a butterfly. I am contemplating keeping the bottle once am done with the perfume.
  2. It smells amazing. It has a very sweet fragrance, and I get so many compliments when I wear this perfume.
  3. It is long-lasting. I wear this perfume quite regularly and it stays on all day.

CONS

  1. The price. My 30ml bottle costs me a whooping £50 at Debenhams, and that is the smallest bottle available. However if you know anything about the Viktor & Rolf perfume brand, you will know they do not come cheap. A 50ml bottle costs £70.50, while a 90ml bottle goes for £96. The good thing about this is because it smells so good, and is long-lasting, you won’t need to spray too much. A little here and there will do for the entire day.

I recommend this perfume to any lady thinking of what perfume to try this spring/summer. If you have the funds to splash or just feeling like spoiling yourself, Viktor & Rolf Bonbon is the perfume to get. It is worth every penny, trust me.

What do you think of this perfume? Have you tried any perfumes from the Viktor & Rolf brand?

My Sundays are all about product reviews and I won’t have it any other way. I usually spend my weekend photographing products, trying them, and blogging about them, and this week is all about The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club. This Discovery Club is all about perfume samples in a box, exclusive to The Fragrance Shop Discovery Box subscribers, and it is all about sniffing the latest scents.

For just £5 a quarter, you receive a Discovery Club box filled with about 10 samples of the latest, classic perfumes. Each box comes with different samples, so it’s a good idea to get all 4. You also get a couple of exclusive offers and previews of upcoming promotions and offers.

I was sent a Discovery Club box some weeks ago, and I received the ‘Classics Collection’, which is the current discovery box, to review. Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. The box had 10 samples in it, 6 for the ladies, and 4 for the men, so it is a perfect sample box for a couple to share.
  2. I like the idea of receiving samples in the post every quarter, so I know which fragrances I will be buying. Perfect for busy people, who do not have the time to go to the shops, to check out fragrances they like.
  3. The £5 for 10 samples in a box is quite a good deal.
  4. Samples of some of my favourite classic perfumes were in this box. Perfumes like Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo , Nina by Nina Ricci, and Lady Million by Paco Rabanne, were all in the box.
  5. This Discovery box can also serve as a gift to a loved one. If you are not sure of the exact perfume to get a friend or a family member, you could just get a box.
  6. I adore the packaging as well, so pretty.

CONS

None.

I think this is a great idea. I get tired of perfumes easily, so I usually go for smaller bottles like a 50ml as opposed to 100ml/125ml. So the fact that I can try various sample sized perfumes at the same time appeals to me. I will recommend The Fragrance Shop Discovery Box to any perfume lover. Four boxes at just £5 each,  is definitely a bargain, and I am 100% sure it will put a smile on everyone’s face. Also, shopping at The Fragrance Shop is socially responsible too. Five pence from every sale made is donated to ‘Rays of Sunshine’ children’s charity. So far, over £500,000 hss been donated, helping to enrich the lives of many seriously ill children in the UK.

Any charity that has to do with children, has a soft sopt in my heart, so I will be buying the next box in March once it is released (a new Discovery Club box is released every quarter), and I will continue to shop at The Fragrance Shop. The stores usually have some of the best perfume deals in the market anyway, so it won’t be too hard.

Thanks for reading and have a great week.
