Mariacarla Boscono Covers Harper’s Bazaar UK October 2016

The stunning Mariacarla Boscono is looking all shades of beautiful on the Harper’s Bazaar cover for October 2016. I love her pose and the piece she has on. This is a very different kind of cover, different in a good way.

I have never heard of Mariacarla Boscono until this cover and I know many of you won’t recognise the name or face so here is a brief introducton for you –

Mariacarla Boscono is a 35-year-old Italian supermodel. You may have spotted her in the Givenchy, Chanel or Stella McCartney ad campaigns recently. This beauty has been modelling for over 20 years now and she has had a very successful modelling career, working with all the major brands – Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Calvin Klein, 
Hermès and Bulgari, among others.

I think Mariacarla (love the name by the way, so exotic) is a stunner. She looks amazing for her age, and she has distinct features so I can see how she stood out from her peers. I like all three covers but I prefer the main cover at the top. That Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini poncho is so beautiful and her Lancôme make-up is simply flawless. The WHSmith special edition cover is also a beauty.

However I don’t see myself buying this cover because it does not look like there is much in it for me. But I do like the sound of the “Why Lipstick is a Femininst Issue”, that sounds like a fab read.

Victoria Beckham Covers British Vogue October 2016

The stunning Victoria Beckham is on the cover of British Vogue October 2016 issue. This cover was photographed by Lachlan Bailey and it is an amazing shot. I love Victoria’s hair and makeup. Her pose is giving me life and her outfit is to die for. She slayed this October cover. I love Victoria’s signature minimal style. She always looks so chic and elegant, but doesn’t look like she tried too hard or put a lot of thought into it. This woman is the definition of Style; she oozes it even in her sleep.

In this Vogue issue, the 42-year-old fashion designer – Victoria Beckham shared a letter she wrote to her teenage self entitled, “What I wish I’d known”, in this letter, she discusses the changing taste in fashion, her relationship with husband – David Beckham, and advice she would have given her teenage self. Here are some excerpts from the letter –

“Learn more about football, especially the offside rule,” she tells herself, referring to her husband’s former career. “And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy,” Beckham adds, disclosing the details of the couple’s first meeting.

“While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage – you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you. He’s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)”

Kristen Stewart Covers ELLE UK September 2016

Kristen Stewart is on the cover of ELLE UK September 2016 issue and she looks good on it. I have not seen Kristen on a magazine cover for a bit now so this cover is a pleasant surprise. In her interview with ELLE magazine, Kristen opens up about her recent projects and her enjoying her work –

‘I have a really strong sense of identity when I’m working. If I’m having a bad day or something personal, or existential, or hormonal – if anything brings me down, I’m lucky if I have to go to work that day. And it could be anything, it could be a photoshoot for Chanel.”

Kristen also spoke about her struggle with anxiety –

‘I went through so much stress and periods of strife. I would have panic attacks…I literally always had a stomach ache. And I was a control freak and I couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in a given situation, so I’d be like, ‘Maybe I’m going to get sick’… It’s kind of remarkable. I just grew out of it, but that’s not to say I don’t get worried.’

Good to know she is enjoying her career and dealing with her anxiety issues. I am happy to see more celebrities talking about these issues because they are real, and too many people suffer in silence.

I am not really into Kristen Stewart hair and makeup, or her outfit on the cover. But I like this picture below –

I think it is more edgy and more front-cover worthy. Do you agree?

I can’t really see what this issue is about from the front cover because there is little or nothing on the it as far as the features are concerned. Which is a shame because I don’t see myself buying a magazine without having an idea of what the magazine is about.
