Hey Fashion and Style Police readers, as promised in this haircare post, here is a blog post about some of the amazing haircare products we have been using. I have been using many of these for a sometime and they all come highly recommended. We use most of them on a daily/weekly basis and they are so good. Definitely check them out if you are on the hunt for new haircare products to try this year.

Naissance Liquid Fractionated Coconut Oil

Amazon says I have bought this Coconut Oil over 31 times! That alone should tell you how amazing this haircare product is. This is my go to carrier oil for many things. It’s a great moisturising oil for the hair. I like adding some in a spray bottle with water to spray on the go. There are lots of Coconut Oil brands in the market, but I find this Naissance Liquid Fractionated Coconut Oil to be one of the best if not the best.

Organic Black Seed Oil Cold Pressed

This is another favourite haircare product of mine. If you are trying to grow your hair edges, this is definitely a product to try. I have been using this fab oil for many years and it is simply the best! The only issue you may find with this is the strong smell, it can be overpowering. I combat the strong smell with some drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil, and it does the trick!

Cantu Wave Whip Curling Mousse

This haircare product is a new addition. I started using this Cantu Wave Whip Curling Mousse a few weeks ago and I really like it. It leaves my hair very soft and curly. I think it’s a great styling product for wash n go hairstyles and it suits all hair types.

Tangle Teezer | The Compact Styler Detangling Hairbrush

This Detangling Hairbrush by Tangle Teezer is a game changer! It is so useful for detangling the hair. I have used these Tangle Teezer brushes for many years and I love how it brushes my hair so easily.

Hair Bonnet for Sleeping

Like I mentioned in my last haircare post, sleeping with a silk scarf and bonnet is a must for me. This Hair Bonnet is a great option. It comes in different colours and it is adjustable, so it should work for most people. This Hair Bonnet is lightweight and comfortable.

Eco Style Styling Gel With Moroccan Argan Oil

This Styling Gel is another great haircare product I have been using for many years. It provides all day hold and it’s free from all nasties, which is fab! If you are after a great styling hair product, try this Eco Style Styling Gel. My daughter and I use this religiously and it is so good.

Coconut Hair Oils for Hair Growth

I recently started experimenting with Coconut Hair Oils. My hair gets really dry and I have struggled with various hair creams. Many of them don’t do much so I started investing in hair oils instead. Previously, I have tried Almond Oils. I used them for many years but I found them a little too greasy for my hair. My hair is quite dry but not dry enough to get away with using Almond Oils for too long. So I stopped using them and decided to stick to using only Coconut Oil for sometime. I usually mix my hair oils with water in a spray bottle, to allow me spray when needed but I decided to use the oils even more. A few weeks ago, I started moisturising my hair and scalp with some coconut oil, after using the spray bottle and I noticed my hair really started to grow.

The Coconut Oil Hair Growth Experience

I realised my hair needed some extra moisture in addition to the spray bottle and I am so happy to have found what really works for my hair. My hair loves some coconut oil and it really works. The hair oil leaves my hair soft, manageable and healthy. My hair has really grown so quickly in the last few weeks. I will be showing off the length and thickness in my next hair post. It is currently twisted up underneath a scarf and I am too lazy to undo it all and take a photo. Another thing I discovered my hair likes is some natural heat. Once I take a protective style off, I rock my natural hair for sometime to enable my hair recover from the previous style. This allows me also clean and moisturise it for some weeks. When I moisturise with water and some coconut oil, I pop my silk hair scarf on for some hours while working from home. I believe this has also helped in growing my natural hair.

I currently use this Naissance Fractionated Pure Coconut Oil. It is an amazing oil and the brand has other oils I am experimenting with as well. I will be writing a review on those soon. How I moisturise my natural hair

I transitioned from texturised hair to natural hair about 5 years ago, and I have no regrets. My hair is strong and healthy, and I love how it looks. When I had texturised hair, my hair was horrible. I had no edges and my hair was breaking a lot. It was so weak and unhealthy, and I couldn’t stand the sight of it anymore. I was tired on hiding it underneath hair extensions that only made my hair condition worse, so I decided to embark on the long road to freedom – natural hair route.

The journey has been long and hard but so worth it. It took me a long time to figure out hair products that worked great for my coarse hair. I tried all sorts of products and I am still trying new products regularly. In my search of trying out new products, I came across the amazing Naissance Fractionated Coconut Oil, Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Leave in Conditioning Cream and some great Sheamoisture Hair Care products. I use SheaMoisture Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Masquwe every 2 weeks and these products help create the right foundation for the rest of my hair care products. 

Before stumbling on these products, I have used lots of shampoos, conditioners, masques, oils and leave in conditioners. But my current hair care products mentioned above are the best for my hair type. They are so good for natural hair protective hairstyles too!
