The holiday season is still in full swing and I have been very busy watching some exciting series and movies on Netflix. I like having a list of what to watch next as it saves me time scrolling through the many series/movies on Netflix looking for what to watch. I lean more to series these days, as they allow me watch something short and sweet when I have the time. Watching movies for hours in one go is not something I can do regularly, but with series, watching an episode every now and again works great for me.

If you are wondering what to watch next on Netflix, here is a list of what I am currently watching –

Captivated

I started watching this short British series some days ago and it is quite good. I like the intriguing storyline, it is so interesting and full of twists and turns. The storyline is centered around a single mother working for a wealthy businessman, who has an ulterior motive behind his generosity. I kind of knew where the story was heading from the start, it was a bit predictable but I enjoyed eatching it all unfold. This is definitely worth watching if you are into this sort of storyline. The series has only 4 episodes, so short and sweet.

Stranger Things 5

I bet all Stranger Things fans have already binge watched this new season but for those who have not, Stranger Things Season 5 is currently available on Netflix and it is as good as all previous seasons. I really enjoyed watching this season, and I wonder if there will be another season. It looks like this new season tied up all the loose ends, but you never know. This was a lovely series to watch during the holidays.

To Kill a Monkey

I watched this series a few months ago and I watched it again with the family during the Chistmas holiday. The storyline is all about how a struggling father gets involved in the world of crime, and faces devastating consequence. This Nigerian series kept me at the edge of my seat all through, and I can clearly see myself binge watching To Kill a Monkey for the third time. I am looking forward to a season 2, I have a feeling there will be one soon.

What I am watching on Netflix this Summer

Summer holidays are in full swing here, which means more TV time for me. With a few weeks off Uni, I have some extra time to watch some fab shows on my Netflix list. There are usually loads of options to pick from and it can feel overwhelming to decide what to watch sometimes. This is why I like to have a watch list for every streaming platform ready to pick from when I want to watch something. Here are some of the series I am watching on Netflix.

Supacell

This Netflix series is one of my favourites this summer. I love the cast a lot! They all made this series interesting, and most of them were new faces to me, so it was nice to watch the talented bunch. I also love the storyline. It was easy to follow but with loads of twists and turns. The series is about a group of young Londoners who suddenly discover they have superpowers.

Watch this Supacell on Netflix if you are into supernatural/Sci-Fi content. I am so looking forward to the season 2!

Oloture: The Journey

This is another series I have been watching on Netflix. I have seen all 3 episodes, and they are quite intense but interesting. I am going to watch the movie as well, just to get the background story. That was released some years ago. If you are into Nollywood movies, this series is a good one to watch. It is all about the life of an undercover journalist who gets swallowed into the world of prostitution.

New Amsterdam

I started watching this drama series some weeks ago and it is really good. It is all about a group of doctors in a public hospital in New York, and every episode has a story as well as an ongoing storyline for each doctor. There are 5 seasons on Netflix, and I am just about to round up season 1, so lots to watch. If you are into series like Grey’s Anatomy and ER, you may like New Amsterdam.

What I am watching on Netflix this Spring

I am in the Netflix and chill state of mind. Uni work is almost completed for now, and work is quiet, so I have been watching a little more Netflix than I usually do. There are loads of amazing series and movies to watch in the spring and summer months, and this year is no exception. Here are some of the series I am watching on Netflix this season –

Queen Cleopatra

I just started watching Queen Cleopatra on Netflix and I am finding the documentary quite interesting. There has been a lot of controversy over Queen Cleopatra being portrayed as a woman of colour, and I find that so odd, but ignoring the noise online, the series is entertaining and very informative. I love learning about ancient culture, and I am learning a lot from this series.

Night Action

I have finished watching this action packed series some weeks ago. It was so good. I enjoyed the suspense filled storyline. It kept me guessing and the cast did an amazing job. If you like your series a bit fast paced, you should check out Night Action! It will definitely leave you at the edge of your seat.

The Brave Ones

This is another African series I have just finished watching. I really enjoyed this one. The storyline is quite captivating and deep. It is one of those series you either like or you loathe, and I really like The Brave Ones. If you are after something different to watch on TV, and you don’t mind reading subtitles, you should probably check out The Brave Ones.

Workin Moms

The new season of Workin Moms is now on Netflix and it is fab as usual. I have seen a few episodes already and the cast are back with their funny lines. If you are into light comedy series, you should check out Workin Moms. It would definitely leave you laughing out loud.

Another Self

This is one series I am still watching. It is quite good as long as you are patient with it as it can feel slow sometimes, and it is a Turkish series, but it is deep and interesting. I love the storyline and I like watching series from different parts of the world as it allows me learn about various cultures. Another Self is definitely worth a watch.
