Alexa Chung Covers Elle UK December 2015

Elle Uk

The stylish Alexa Chung covers Elle UK December issue and I am loving it so far. I only started reading it today and I can already say I am going to get value for my money – £4.10. Elle Magazines are one of the most expensive magazines around but I always make sure I get a copy or I get someone else to get me one, lol….

This issue is filled up with style advice from the stylish Alexa Chung, what fitness bloggers eat, eyelash beauty tips, a free sample of Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Lash Primer; which I am playing around with, soon to be reviewed, Ebele Okobi, a fellow Nigerian sister, is the Woman of the Month, and so many more interesting features. If you grab any magazine this month, it should be Elle.

The Style Icon – Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is one woman I admire in the fashion industry. This 31-year-old beauty is an English fashion designer, model, contributing editor at British Vogue and TV presenter. She came out from nowhere and instantly became a fashion queen, her name is on the lips of every fashion follower. With her enviable wardrobe, a jeans clothing line and a Mulberry bag named in her honour, she is a true Style Icon. Her signature style is a work of art and it is one of the most copied looks on the planet. Alexa Chung is that amazing.

Here are 5 style tips taken from her pop-culture fashion book It

‘A navy blue jumper is potentially the most boring item anyone could design and yet it’s my most important possession’

‘Looking effortless takes a lot of effort. When I get new Converse I dedicate some time at home to shoving mud on them so they don’t look squeaky clean.’

‘Thank you, Jane Birkin, for providing me with infinite outfit ideas and the confidence to dress like a boy but act like a girl.

‘I think I was interested in ponies and all the relevant paraphernalia because of the fashion as much as the animals. That silhouette of skinny trousers, ankle boots and an oversized sweatshirt is one I never managed to get away from’

‘Practicality is high on my list… I’ll always prefer a girl in an oversized t-shirt as opposed to an undersized boob tube but that’s because I’m a girl, or a tomboy, and not a boy’

Product Review: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

It is Friday and I have another product review for your reading pleasure. Prior to using this skinny eyeliner, I have never heard of Eyeko. I actually got a free sample from a Glamour Magazine some months ago, and I was eager to try it out.

I also did a bit of research on the Eyeko brand because I like to know the story behind every brand.

Here are my findings:

  • Alexa Chung is the current creative consultant.
  • Eyeko was established in 1999.
  • Created by Max and Nina Leykind.

Eyeko Eye Liner Review

Here are my thoughts on Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner:

PROS

  • The brush allows for easy application and hard to reach points which is very important for me because my hand shakes a lot whenever I am apply my eye liner or mascara.
  • It is so easy to make a “cat eye” with this eyeliner.
  • It stays on all day which is good.

CONS

  • The RRP is £12, I consider that pricey for an eyeliner.
  • The colour is definitely not black, it is more of light grey. I prefer my eyeliners black.
  • It is not waterproof.
  • It is not smudgeproof.

I recommend the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner to girls/women who struggle to line their eyes neatly. You can practise easily with this product and switch to a more affordable product, that does the job better.

Has anyone tried this eyeliner? What are your thoughts?
