The Gift of a Scent

The gift of a scent is one of the best gifts you can give a perfume lover like me because you are not only giving me a perfect present I would love, you are also gifting me a memory. And since it is the season of giving, I have been thinking of various fragrances and perfumes and which scents I would love to give and receive this Christmas. Choosing the right scent for a loved one can be very tricky, you have to get it right which means you have to know what scents the person would like. It can’t be too strong or too mild, it can be a weak or an overpowering fragrance, it has to be just perfect. Which is why I won’t recommend you buy a perfume as a Christmas gift except you know the recipient of the gift inside out.

Here are a few perfume ideas you may find useful –

Estée Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Eau De Parfum Spray

I love this fragrance. It smells amazing and stays on all day. The bottle is a beauty, and I think it would make a fabulous Christmas present. It may be pricey for many with prices ranging from £64 to £90, but I bet it would make that special person very happy.

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau De Parfum

This is another great Christmas gift idea for a perfume lover. This YSL Black Opium is a lovely and fresh feminine fragrance. The packaging is so beautiful. And it stays on for ages too. Prices vary from £47 to £87.

Gucci Bamboo Eau De Parfum

This Gucci Bamboo perfume has a fruity/floral fragrance that smells divine and stays on all day. I would be thrilled to receive this perfume, I think it looks heavenly and smells even more heavenly. Prices range from £68 to £80.

Prada La Femme Prada Eau De Parfum

This Prada perfume is a true jewel. The amazing bottle is a stunner, and the floral fragrance leaves you smelling amazing all day. It is a great scent for the season, and a fantastic Christmas gift idea. Prices range from £49 to £99.

  1. I have used the Modern Mouse by Estee Lauder, it is beautiful. I am currently on Black Opium – it is lovely too. I will try the Gucci Bamboo and Prada. Sure they will be great to. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I so agree with what you said about scent and memory. I have loads of memories associated with my mum’s perfumes over the years 🙂 Perfume/colognes is indeed the perfect gift for all occasions 🙂

  3. I haven’t tried any of these perfumes, but the opium one sounds delightful! I tend to get headaches wearing too strong perfumes so I am not a very big perfume lover. When I was working for Chanel I learned that there are more men buying Chanel perfumes as present than women because it is so traditional and something that anyone would like, which is a funny fact! x
