Topping Energy Levels this Spring

Spring is finally upon us and the warmer is getting warmer. I have been busy getting myself and my household ready for the new season. We have been busy spring cleaning our home, getting our garden spring-ready and also staying on top of our health. The spring/summer months are usually very busy. So I have been paying attention to my health and well-being in time for the season.

I have been taking some supplements from Professional Supplement Specialists – Biocareto help me get ready for the new season. With all the hustle and bustle, I needed a helping hand. So I was happy to get my hands on these supplements below.

I have been taking both food supplements for weeks now and I feel amazing. My energy levels have gone up and I have been walking with a spring in my step.

If you are looking for ways to top your energy levels this spring, here are tips from Chris Newbold, Head of Clinical Nutrition at BioCare –

Avoid caffeine after 2pm

This is a tricky one for me but I working on it. I have noticed, I sleep better if I do not take any caffeinated drink after 2pm. Caffeine is great for increasing alertness, so starting the day with a cup of cappuccino may help sharpen your mind. But It can cause sleep problems if taken after 2pm.

Give yourself a breakfast boost

Having a good breakfast is the best way to feel alert in the mornings. It’s important to go for healthier options, such as porridge and fruit, an omelette or wholemeal toast. Avoid fatty, deep-fried foods such as fry-ups, as these take a while for your body to digest and will leave you with less energy.

Get some sleep

This is an obvious tip but making of us do not get the right amount of sleep needed to function properly. A bad night’s sleep can leave you feeling drained for days, so make sure you’re well rested every night to feel reenergised the next day.

Add some protein

High quality protein will fill you up and give you all-day energy. So ensure you add some protein into your daily diet. There are many different options to choose from such as salmon and eggs for breakfast, followed by tuna or chicken for lunch and dinner.

Don’t ditch the complex carbs

Complex carbs such as brown rice, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, and wheat fuels the body and mind to help you make it through the day. These complex carbs are turned into glucose (blood sugar) in the body and are used as energy.

Ditch the drink before bed

Now this is a great tip as I believe many are not aware of it. Alcohol can trick you into thinking that you will sleep better as it can often make you feel drowsy and can make it easier to fall asleep. However, this can also affect your energy levels the next day, as you’re more likely to wake up and feel terrible. Drinking alcohol can dehydrate the body, so reach for a glass of water between alcoholic drinks to ease the hangover symptoms the next day.

How are you topping up your energy levels this spring? Are you taking any food supplements this season?
