Having a shower is what many of us do on a daily basis. So we should all know what we are doing in the bathroom right? What if I told you most of us have been showering so wrong all this time. Read up to find out the shower sins you may be guilty of.
Here are the famous 4 shower sins you may be committing –
Staying too long in shower
This is the most popular sin many of us are committing on a daily basis. I understand how good a warm shower feels on a cold winter morning. But the last skin your skin needs is you taking forever in the shower. You should keep showers to 5 minutes or less. Any shower session longer than 5 minutes is not good for your skin. Prolonged water exposure can lead to dryness in the skin and hair. Hot water damages the skin faster and strips the skin off its natural oils, so the cooler the better.
Using too much shower gel/soap
I am so guilt of this sin and trying to be better. I use way too much shower gel because I love the fragrance and the texture on my skin. Using too much shower gel is not good for the skin. An average adult usually needs a 50p sized blop of shower gel to clean the entire body. That sounds very little, but that is really all we need. So think twice when next you are taking a shower. Using too much shower gel could lead to skin dryness problems like eczema and other skin conditions.
You don’t moisturise immediately
This is another shower sin I am sometimes guilty of, especially on a school morning, where I can get easily distracted. When our skin comes in contact with water, it loses moisture, which is where moisturisers come in. W should be moisturising our whole body as soon as we step out of the shower, where our skin is still damp.
Not scrubbing our feet
Many people are guilty of not scrubbing our feet. I think the feet is usually the most neglected part of our body, and it really should not be the case. The feet should be washed properly alongside the entire body. It should also be towel dried and moisturised once you are out of the shower. This would help keep athlete’s foot and other conditions away.
