The first step when it comes to losing weight is to work on your diet. Watching what you eat and eating a balanced healthy diet is the fastest way to lose weight fast. Cutting back on sugars and starchy foods (carbohydrates) will help you massively. Reducing the sugary and starchy foods you eat will reduce your hunger levels which will in turn reduce your weight eventually. Also instead of burning carbohydrates for energy, your body starts to feed off stored fat.

This is yet another reason to make sure you are sleeping enough. Most adults need around 7/8 hours of good sleep. Poor sleep can lead to many other health problems so getting a good night’s sleep is very important.

  1. Never used to have a problem with my weight even after having the adult youngsters. About 10 years ago when health issues kicked in, but time, getting older etc I have put on weight. Yo Yo’d with dieting.

    Last year after David passed I had lost quite a bit of weight with the stress of it all. I started fixating again on my weight to keep it off. It was a form of avoidance of some feelings I realised pretty quickly. I realised I was getting on and off the scales too much.

    I then decided to throw out the scales, eat healthily, and forgive myself if I had a bad few days. Keep it in the day over eating healthily and allow myself treats.

    I am between a size 14-16 which is Brit average. This has worked. I am far happier with myself now I have stopped fretting about diets and food

    • I never weigh myself. I didn’t going on the scale regularly can keep you fixated on your weight and that does no good. Good you are happy with yourself now. Treats are always good.
