Fashion and Style Police is Going Even More Personal

This October will make it 5 years of blogging. It has been 5 years of highs and lows, and I have learnt so much. I feel it is now time for me to take Fashion and Style Police to a different level, and blog slightly differently. Fashion and Style Police is Going Even More Personal!

So what are the changes to expect on Fashion and Style Police?

You may have noticed a slight change in the look of the blog. Well, I paid for the business package on WordPress. I contemplated doing that for some time now, but the price tag was a bit heavy. I decided to just do it last week for many reasons. With this business package, I have more control of the look of my blog. I have made a few changes thanks to some fantastic plugins I have installed. And I think this is a great way to start a new blogging chapter. I am so looking forward to the amazing opportunities that would surely come.

Apart from the new look of the blog, the content published on here will also change. I want them to be even more personal. So there would be lots of more photos and some blogging series would be scrapped. The Magazine Covers category would be scrapped, along with the Fashion Criminals category. All old posts in both categories would remain on the blog, but no new ones would be added, and I won’t be actively promoting the old blog posts in both categories but will be linking back to them where necessary.

I have contemplated stopping this blog series for months now, and I have finally decided to end it. Reading magazines and writing about them is one of my favourite things, but I believe it is time to give up the time and space for other projects.

I am also going to scrap the Who Wore It Better posts, as well as the Yay or Nay posts. Just like I stopped writing about Red Carpet Awards Fashion, I think it is time to give these up as well. However, the Beauty Muse and Style Icon categories would still stay on for now.

What’s New on Fashion and Style Police?

There shall be more outfit posts, product review posts and lifestyle posts. I hope to host more giveaways, so look out for those as well. There would be quite a few more fashion, beauty, self-employed/freelance and blogging tips posts as well. Basically, it is going to be the same blog you have been reading all these years but with a more personal touch. You would be reading and seeing a lot of what I am wearing, reading, trying, eating and what I am up to in general. So more travel and more of me than anything else! I will also be introducing some new blog series so look for those as well.

Cheers to the new month of August and the rest of the year. May it be a good one for us all.Β Have a lovely day and look out for my next post.

Yes or No to Cosmetic Surgery

Have you ever considered having cosmetic surgery done or have you had any work done already? I have not had any work done but I have considered having some work done at various points in my life.

At one point in my life, I considered having some wobbly bits done up, but I keep changing my mind. I am not sure if I would ever gone ahead with cosmetic surgery, but it is something that crosses my mind quite regularly, so it may happen some day.

Some people think, anyone who has cosmetic surgery done has insecurity issues, but I disagree. I believe majority of us, especially women, have a thing or 2 they we are insecure about, but I don’t think that necessarily would drive us to have cosmetic surgery done, if we do not want it done for other reasons.

As for me, I am very happy and comfortable in my skin. I have fallen completely in love with myself but there are still some parts of me,of my body, I would love to enhance if possible. I have had some other beauty enhancement treatments done, like my teeth whitened and laser hair removal treatment on my chin. And I can see myself having top-ups of those treatments and some more later in life. I found these treatments easy to do, and I didn’t have to recover from them, I could carry on as normal, and that is very important when I have 2 very active toddlers to deal with. I can’t afford to have a procedure that would leave me off work or on bed rest. It just can’t happen for now.

Cosmetic surgery can be done on various parts of our body, with the breasts, nose, buttocks, and lips and face being the most popular features for treatment. The ears are also becoming a very popular part to have some cosmetic surgery done thanks to the innovative Earfold treatment also known as Ear Pinning, which is simply an innovative alternative treatment for those with prominent ears.

Most of us know all about cosmetic surgery, the various types, and the pros and cons of having cosmetic surgery done. I know a few people in real life that have had their breasts and lips done, and they look great. Like I said in my previous post, I think the decision to have cosmetic surgery done is a personal choice, and as long as it is an enhancement and it makes you feel better about yourself, then it is definitely worth doing, if you can afford it. Just own it!

I think people, especially women who have had some work done, are judged too harshly by the general public. There are many reasons why someone would love to have a form of surgery done, and they may not always be for the vain reasons we tend to think.

What I would say is that you need to do your research, and read up the facts about the cosmetic surgery treatment before undergoing it.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Will you ever consider having cosmetic surgery done? Have you had any work done?

Product Review: 3D Crest Glamorous Whitestrips

I have been using the 3D Crest Glamorous Whitestrips for over 2 weeks now, and I can see a clear difference in the colour of my teeth. I have previously mentioned how I would love to have my teeth whitened again. I had a teeth whitening procedure done a few years ago, and it completely changed my smile for the better. So I was thinking of having a top-up procedure done, but not had the opportunity to do that, so I was very happy to have the opportunity to try out the 3D Crest Glamorous Whitestrips.

I must confess, I was a bit sceptical at first. I have used so many dental products with promises of a whiter smile only for them to perform way below expectation. In most cases, I noticed no difference at all, so I although I was happy to try out these whitening strips, I did have my hopes up.

The 3D Crest Glamorous Whitestrips formally known as Crest Advanced Vivid, is designed to whiten natural teeth 25X better than a leading teeth whitening toothpaste.

The pack also included a pack of Oral B Glide 3D White Whitening + Scope Flavour Floss.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. I love the compact packaging. It is so easy to pop the Whitestrips satchets and Floss pack in a bag.
  2. The Whitestrips are very easy to use. My pack came with 28 strips for 14 treatments(1 upper and 1 lower). I use the strips once a day for 30 minutes. They are easy to put on and take off.
  3. The Whitestrips work. I started to notice a difference after 4 treatments, and my teeth is now a lot whiter since I completed the 14 treatment.
  4. The Whitestrips have an advanced seal technology that provides a strong firm grip.
  5. The Whitestrips are very comfortable. I can go about my day as normal when I have them on. I can talk and even drink water with them on.
  6. The Oral B Glide 3D White Whitening + Scope Flavour Floss performs amazingly well. It gets rid of any food stuck in between the teeth and it leaves a fresh breath.

CONS

  1. I experienced a bit of teeth sensitivity while using the strips, which is perfectly normal when using a teeth whitening product. It disappeared after a few days.

I would recommend the 3D Crest Glamorous Whitestrips to anyone in need of a brighter smile. It is a very effective and convenient way of whitening your teeth. A trial will convince you!
