The Basics Of Building A More Spicy Wardrobe

*Collaborative post.

There are many ways you can change your wardrobe to fit your style – we all have a few separate shelves for our winter and summer looks! And if you want to start dressing a little more ‘spicy’, it’s time to update your clothing collection to really reflect how much you’re feeling yourself right now. But we need to start with the basics; otherwise, what are you going to build on? Here are a few tips for helping you curate a more spicy and sexy wardrobe selection for those special occasions.

Straps are a Great Start

If it’s strappy, it’s already got a lot of spice to it! After all, strappy shirts and vests and dresses allow us to really show off our top curves. They let us show off our shoulders and arms, which can then be dressed up with drop necklaces and lacey bangles to really bring the whole look together.

So make sure you’re shopping for spaghetti tops and long drop dresses – they’ll work as great foundations for further accessorizing. They’ll work as the base of the spicy looks you put together, which can also save you a lot of money as well.

Expand Your Lingerie Collection

When it comes to building a wardrobe that makes you feel sexy, what’s spicier than a bit of see through lingerie? If you’ve got a few sets that make you feel both bold and comfortable in your own skin, you’re going to feel so much more confident in your style choices, even if you’re just wearing the lingerie for yourself! Indeed, you’ve got to love your own curves before anyone else’s, and a good lingerie set will really help with that.

So how much lingerie should you own? The most basic types are Bikini and Bodysuit, so make sure you’ve got a couple different sets of those in your wardrobe. If you want to branch out a little more, invest in a Bustier or a Chemise, both of which can be incredibly comfortable to wear while still giving you plenty of support.

Show a Bit of Skin!

Also sometimes known as cut-out dresses, these types of dresses and bodysuits have ‘windows’ cut into them to allow you to show off the areas of your body you’re most comfortable with/proud of. Of course, depending on how much skin you want to show, you can go for quite a few different options here.

Maybe you just want to let your shoulders breathe? Or maybe you fancy having a connector ring between the top and bottom of the dress, allowing you to show off your midriff? And a good slit dress is always going to be a spicy sight! For example, a thigh slit can make you feel like a celeb on the red carpet, and you’ll feel very sexy on a night out when wearing one.

If you want to build a more spicy wardrobe, make sure you’re working from the ground up. Show some skin this season!

Great Christmas Gift Ideas for Her

*Collaborative post

I know it may not feel like Christmas is around the corner for many of us, but the truth is that it is. October ends this week and once Halloween is over. All everyone starts to think about and talk about is Christmas. I have started seriously thinking of what Christmas gifts I would be getting my loved ones. There are a few items on my list already and I will be grabbing them in the next few days so I have plenty of time to wrap and post them without panicking.

I recently came across this fantastic website – Cocorose London. I read their latest blog post on the Perfect Christmas Gifts for Her and I found the post very timely and it gave me loads of gift ideas.

They are quick to wear, easy to style, and very comfy. This stylish pair would make a lovely Christmas gift. It looks amazing.

I am forever wearing flats! They are super comfortable and easy to wear. I wear them all year long. You can pair flats with warm tights on cold days and you can wear them with a summery dress on warm days. They are so versatile, which is why a woman can never have too many flats. They are great gift ideas for women like me who love their flats. The stunning quilted black flats here would work great as a Christmas gift.

It looks like we will be wearing face masks for some time. This pink silk face mask by Cocorose London comes with a filter pocket and matching pouch. It would work great as a stocking filler or a little Christmas gift. I like the pink colour and the fact that it is made from 100% premium quality, high-grade mulberry silk.

Carnaby – Grey Leopard Print Foldable Shoes

Foldable shoes are so handy to have on you especially on days when you have high shoes you may need to take off after some time. I love that brands now design foldable shoes just for this purpose. Back in the day, it used to be me popping my old flats in my handbag for when I need it but now I can just pop a foldable pair in my bag and it fits in nicely. This would make a great gift.

Fashion for Outdoor Events

Spring is here and it will be summer before we say BOOM! Summer is all about barbecues, picnics and loads of outdoor events/activities. It is usually a busy time of the year and I really can’t wait for all the fun the season brings.

When it comes to dressing for outdoor events, we have to pay special attention to our clothing and accessories to ensure they are fit for purpose. Fashion for the outdoors is all about wearing the right outfit for the event. Being outdoors for an entire event can be hard, depending on the weather and whether you like being outdoors or not.

Here are some fashion and style tips you may find handy –

If in doubt wear jeans

Jeans are great for outdoor events. You can easily catch me wearing a pair of jeans. They are practical, stylish and very functional. Jeans are great for picnics, summer barbecues and parties, You can hide grass and food stains easily on a pair of jeans. They are also very easy to glam up. You can style it with a glittery or over the top blouse for a more stylish look.

Layer like a pro

If you are going to be spending hours outdoors, it is best to dress up in layers, so you can put on and take off as needed. Styling your outfit with a light jacket or wrap cardigan on a summery day would work great. You could also go for a look with a camisole underneath. This helps for when it starts off being very warm in the day but becomes chilly in the evening.

Go for comfy clothing

When it comes to outdoor events, I like to think of comfort after layering. Comfort is very important if I plan to have a great time. I like to wear comfy pieces like light jeans, cotton tops, dark linen trousers, wide knee-length skirts and the likes.

Remember the accessories

For a summer day, I am always with a hat and a pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes. I can’t imagine attending an outdoor event without them.

Go elegant to the Races

If going to the races is on your agenda this summer, make sure you have your elegant outfit ready. It is all about the glamourous dress paired with stunning heels, and hat/fascinator. Ensure you dress to look the part.

Style your footwear smart

Ensure you wear the right sort of shoes and make sure you can work in them. I remember wearing a lovely strappy sandals to a summer wedding a few years ago. It was done outdoors and I struggled to walk on the grass. My heels kept digging into the muddy grass. It was a horrible experience. You don’t want to find that you are struggling to walk in your shoes on the day. A way to get around this is to wear comfy shoes for the location of the event. A more structured heel or wedge would have been ideal for me. Also, it makes sense to have a pair of flats in your bag for when your feet need it.
