Blogging tip: Write for yourself first

Many pro bloggers advise you to write for your audience and search engines when you start blogging. This is correct. You should write for search engines and your readers but when you have a new blog, the best thing you can do for yourself and your blog is to write for yourself first. Once you start writing for yourself, everything else will fall into place. You will learn along the way what works for your blog niche, what type of blog posts bring in more traffic, and the types that bring in more engagement. The more you blog, you more you will understand what works and what doesn’t. That way you can twerk as you go along.

Blogging tip: Write for yourself first

I see many new bloggers falling into the trap of writing like every other blogger. They don’t put their own spin on their blog posts. Their blog looks like every other popular blog on their web and there is no originality. There is a very thin line between being getting inspiration and outright copying. I know it is tempting to be a little bit too inspired while grabbing blog post ideas from your favourite blogs, and this is where many newbie bloggers kill their blogging career before it even gets started.

It is so important to write for yourself first especially in your early blogging days. Your blog needs to bring something new and fresh to the web. That is the only way to stand out in the saturated world of blogging. Anything else, and you just get buried on the web. My advice is to play out with your creativity and discover where your strength is. It could be in your writing tone, photography, video content, or knowledge in a particular niche. There is always room to bring something new and fresh; writing for yourself first is the way to find out what that is.

When it comes to blogging for success, there is really no tip. One rule could work great for one blog and not for another. The only way to know which rule works for you is to play around with different blogging tips and be original. Practice makes perfect with blogging. The more you blog, the better you become, and the faster you learn. Experience is the best teacher, so if you are contemplating starting a blog, just start and learn as you go along. Good luck xx

Why you need a blog coach

I have been offering a blog coaching service for months now and I have gotten many clients already. The service is quite popular with new bloggers and I am not surprised. I wish I had this when I first started blogging in 2012. It would have made my growth a lot easier and faster. Back then there was no one to ask questions and many of us had to learn as we went along. Which is why I decided to offer a blog coach service to anyone who would be able to pay a small fee in return for some help on how to grow your blog, so you can start earning money from it.

Being a blog coach is fun. It is something I have done for free for years on this blog with my blogging tips content. Being able to help bloggers one-on-one is a lot more fun for all parties involved. Now that I offer a blog coaching service, I will be easing off on the blogging tips category. I will still be sharing blog related tips every now and again, but not as much. I have to focus on my clients and write about other topics more going forward.

Tips To Help Secure A Blog Collaboration

*Collaborative post.

As a blogger, being able to secure a blog collaboration, whether that’s to receive a product or it’s paid, is a great achievement. If you’ve not managed to secure one yet, then there’s probably a few things that you’re missing. So here are some tips to help secure a blog collaboration.

Post Consistently

Posting regularly is important because it shows those individuals or companies that are looking for bloggers that you’re posting consistently. If it looks as though you have no regular posting times or content going up in general, then they’re unlikely to want to work with you because there might not be enough promotion for them to utilize and they might also consider that you won’t post up immediately or on the deadline they have. So try to post consistently, even if it’s once a week at the same time. At least your readers will be familiar with your timings.

Create A Media Kit

A media kit is a great way of getting your blog out there in a professional manner, and when you can present a media kit, it can show them you mean business. A media kit is made up of an introduction to your blog, your social statistics, and the rates you’d charge for the business you offer to brands and clients in general. Having all this in one easy to read document is essential. So take a look at some examples that can easily be found online and start thinking about how you’d like to lay out your own so that you can start sending it out.

Improve Your SEO

SEO is hugely important to websites because the more friendly it can be to search engine optimization, the better your chances are at getting your blog seen by those that are important. There are a few things that you can do to improve it yourself, like fixing broken links and writing more long-form content. Working with a professional though might be handy, and there are companies out there like https://ignitedigital.com/mississauga-seo-search-engine-optimization/ who have great experience in providing the best SEO assistance for your website. It might be an investment that’s worth doing for your blog in order to get those collaborations you need.

Pitch To Brands Directly

Pitching to brands directly might seem a little nerve-racking, but it shows you’re passionate about working with the brand, and if you pitch it well, they’ll likely to agree on your terms. Always look to see what you can offer as a blogger and make sure you send your media kit with the pitch too. Make it personal to them and don’t be too aggressive or demanding in what you want because that might have the opposite effect to what you want.

Securing a blog collaboration can be such a great feeling when you achieve it. So create a media kit that can show off your work and pitch to brands directly. Improve the SEO of your website and post consistently to show you’re working hard.
