I am always on the lookout for great kids clothing brand for the kiddies. So I was thrilled to discover Syrup and Salt. For those who have never heard of Syrup and Salt, it is an independent fashion label created by Kate Harrison, from her North Cornwall design studio. It is a fun-loving brand with stylish collections. The brand has a unique collection of stunning Sweatshirts, Tees, Kids Clothing and Jewellery.

Syrup and Salt Sweatshirts

The Kiddies had the opportunity to review pieces from the sweatshirt collection for 2018/2019 . My son got the Yellow Kids Sunshine and Waves Sweatshirt, while my daughter got Grey Kids Sweatshirt with Glittery Lightning Bolt (Pink Highlight).

Our mini photo shoot was fun as always. The twins enjoy taking photos, especially my daughter. She has a new pose for every new shot!

We really like these Syrup and Salt Sweatshirts. They are colourful and stylish. I really like the creative designs. The Grey Kids Sweatshirt with Glittery Lightning Bolt (Pink Highlight) is such a beauty. My daughter really likes the glittery lightning bolt with pink highlight. She has worn it a few times already as it complements her existing wardrobe so it is easy to style. The sweatshirt also washes really well which is a plus.

My son’s Yellow Kids Sunshine and Waves Sweatshirt is also very pretty. I love the bright colour, yellow looks lovely on him. The waves design is also very stylish. It reminds me of the summer months, which I am seriously missing at the moment. He has worn it a couple of times as well and it washes very too!

Outfit Post – The Duchess in Green and Gold

My daughter (fondly known as the Duchess) is a fashionista. She is a girly girl, so she loves her skirts and dresses a little more than your average girl. The Duchess loves to twirl around in her pieces, which is why she was extra thrilled when she got this beautiful green and gold dress courtesy of David Charles Childrenswear. This piece is now one of her favourite dresses in her wardrobe.

David Charles Childrenswear is an iconic British brand that creates luxury designer dresses for girls aged 2-16. The brand was founded in 1970 by husband and wife team David and Susan Graff, You can find their elegant dresses in Harrods and Saks 5th Ave in New York.

This lovely jewel green and gold occasion gown by David Charles Childrenswear is a very stylish piece. My daughter has fallen completely in love with it as you can see from the photos below. She can twirl around in this gown all day if I let her, and I can’t blame her. The dress is a beauty to behold.

We love everything about this gorgeous occasion gown. David Charles Childrenswear did a terrific job on this piece and many other lovely gowns on the website. if you are after luxury dresses for children, then you need to check the website out. There are so many different designs and colours available for kids, you would blown away by the exquisite craftsmanship.

Anyways, back to this five-star dress that is fit for royalty. It is a statement party dress that would definitely make heads turn this party season. My Duchess is definitely going to be wearing this ball gown beauty this Christmas.

The green colour with gold-embroidered florals makes this dress stand out. It is an unusual colour combination, and I love that about it. The lavish tulle layering finishes off the dress in a beautiful way. I also like the fact that the dress is light and feels soft to touch. My daughter was very comfy wearing this dress which is great as I see her wearing a lot of it.

The handcrafted details – puffed cap sleeves and jewelled embellished velvet ribbon at the waist, with a concealed zip fastening give the dress a “wow” effect.

Transitioning Your Child’s Wardrobe from Summer to Winter

I like going through the kiddies wardrobe every 3 months. That way I get to take out clothing that no longer fits or items that no longer look good. This allows me to ensure they have all they need for the new time of year. I usually do this at the start of a new season, so if there are gaps to fill, I get them filled as soon as possible.

A few weeks ago, I transitioned my children’s wardrobe from Summer to Winter. It was a lot of fun for me to do as always. One of my favourite jobs is sorting wardrobes out, which kind of explains why I wanted to pursue a career in fashion styling, but that is a story for another day.

The kiddies have their Winter wardrobe ready transitioned! Ready for the colder months! So, we said goodbye to some of the Summery pieces and hello to the Autumn/Winter wardrobe. All the warmer clothing and footwear are in place ready to be worn, and the kiddies are loving their new pieces and the new way of styling them.

 

If you are thinking of sorting your child’s ware out for the new season, then you are reading the right post. Here are 4 easy ways of transitioning your child’s wardrobe from Summer to Winter –

Check what you need

The first part of transitioning is to check what your child needs. It makes no sense duplicating pieces or buying clothing that is not needed. Once you have gone through the wardrobe, then you will see where the gaps are and how to go about shopping for them. Some great piece’s I have started with are from the Children’s Designerwear by Strawberry Children. It is a great high-end fashion children’s clothing store with so many stylish pieces for both boys and girls.

 

Get the layers ready

Having layers ready is a great way to ensure your children look stylish and comfy this season. I like to ensure my kids have light layers to complement some of their clothing. So, boleros, cardigans, waist coats, sweaters in various colours and designs must be in place. That way, they can still wear some of their Summer pieces like light shirts and dresses in the Autumn/Winter months. The kids outgrow their clothes so quickly so being able to wear the most of their clothes is also good value for money.

 

Shop for Winter staple pieces

I like to shop for Winter staple pieces and get them ready in time for the season. These include; thick tights, woolly hats, gloves, scarves and coats. It is smart to have a couple of these items as tights tend to rip quite quickly, and gloves and hats usually grow wings, especially with kids at school.

Invest in great footwear

It makes sense to invest in great footwear for your children especially in the colder months with the snow and icy roads. Summer footwear is not appropriate, so it is time to make way for the boots, wellies, and trainers to ensure maximum comfort. It might be worth having their feet measured before buying any footwear, just so you get the right sizes.
