The best occasions to wear lingerie

What are the best occasions to wear lingerie?

  • A first date: Whether you plan to have sex or not, wearing lingerie on a first date can make you feel powerful and sexy!

  • Your wedding: Your wedding lingerie will be the most important set that you will ever buy! Whether you make it up to the bedroom after a long day of drinking and celebrating or not, having some sexy knickers on underneath that beautiful dress of yours will make you feel like a million dollars. If you don’t feel like hitting the stores or don’t have time, remember you can check some amazing options online for bridal lingerie.

  • A job interview: It might sound a little strange, or even inappropriate, but wearing lingerie to an interview is a great way to give you a little confidence boost and walk into that office with some swag in your step. Remember, nobody but you will know, which makes it all the more exciting.

  • Your birthday: Because why not? Since your birthday is going to be all about you, put on your best and go about your day feeling like a goddess. Whether you have the day off, something planned, or you’re going to work, wear some lingerie and really make the day extra special.

  • A night in by yourself: You don’t need to wear lingerie for anyone but yourself. So, if you plan on having a little you time, why not don some of your finest lingerie and check yourself out in the mirror? When you feel sexy and powerful in lingerie, you can take it one step further and lay out some adult sex toys on the bed for a little self-indulgence.

The worst occasions to wear lingerie

What are some of the worst occasions to wear lingerie?

  • Because you feel you have to: If your partner insists on you wearing lingerie when you don’t feel up to it, don’t. The only occasion you should be wearing lingerie is when you are completely into it and feeling your best.

  • To the gym: While wearing lingerie can certainly make you feel sexy and powerful, you should never wear lingerie when you are working out. Wear something practical that you are comfortable in and don’t mind getting covered in sweat!

  • When lounging about at home: Yes, it’s good to get dressed up in your best knickers if you are planning a little alone time. However, if you won’t make it much further than the couch and fancy a binge day, then bin off the knickers and bra and stick to some baggy sweatpants instead. If you’re going to slob out, slob out in style!
Conclusion

Ultimately, wearing lingerie should always be on your terms. Never feel pressured to dress up for anyone other than yourself. Yes, it’s nice to treat your partner to some sexy lingerie, but the most important thing of all is that you feel confident when you do so. Of course, when you look so darn incredible, it’s hard not to feel confident!

Luxury Lingerie Pieces

Summer is almost here, and that is all I can think about, as far as fashion is concerned. I am loving the new designs in store, and looking forward to grabbing a few new pieces this season.

I love lingerie shopping. I don’t go lingerie shopping everyday, so when I do go, I like to go for luxurious quality pieces. I recently came across some luxury womens lingerie on the David Nieper website, and I have been busy filling up my shopping cart! For those who do not know about this amazing brand, David Nieper is a womenswears store with a reputation for designing and making collections of the utmost softness, femininity and luxury.

Here are some of the lingerie pieces that are currently on my style radar –

Superso Smooth Bra by Mey

This stunning guipure lace-trimmed T-shirt bra looks so good. It is made in gorgeously light fabric which gently moulds to the shape of your breasts. I like bras that look like this. This would be a great addition to my bra collection.

Panty Girdle by Miss Mary of SwedenWhite Girdle Picture

A girdle is a must-have lingerie for almost every mother out there. And this white cotton piece ticks all the right boxes, with the integral control and firm support to flatten at the front, lift and shape. This would be so handy in my wardrobe!

Soft Camisole

I find camisoles so handy. I wear a lot of see through blouses, so camisoles are a necessity in my wardrobe. I could also wear one without a blouse, which makes them a great multi-tasking piece to have in the wardrobe this summer. This soft camisole is a fab choice!

Soft Stretch Lace Brief by Sans Complexe

I love this pink and pretty brief with deep stretch lace panels. I love the finishing with the fixed lace-up ribbon details at the sides. I would love a few of these. I think it looks so luxurious.

What do you think of these pieces? Do you enjoy shopping for lingerie?

Do sound off in the comments section. Thanks for stopping by.

Swimwear Trends For 2015

It’s that time of year where we start to crave a holiday. If you’re lucky enough to have already booked your next getaway, you’ve probably already turned your attention to swimwear.
From bikinis to swimsuits, there’s so many styles, designs and prints to choose from. To help you select the best option for your shape, we’ve enlisted the help of Danielle Kisby from leading lingerie and swimwear retailer, Bras Galore. She’ll provide her expert opinion on this season’s hottest trends.

Fringing
Popular in the 80s and 90s, fringing has re-emerged in time for summer 2015. Shorter fringed bikinis are great for adding subtle detail to your swimsuit, while longer styles can create a more dramatic look.
Speaking of the trend, Danielle said: “Channelling boho chic, fringing is one of my favourite trends this season. It’s great for minimising the appearance of a larger bust, as well as disguising those pesky cellulite-prone areas on the hips. A fringed bikini is the perfect alternative to heavily printed swimwear. Choose a plain option to remain subtly stylish.”
High-waisted
Favourites with everyone from curvalicious Beyoncé to athletic Taylor Swift, high-waisted bikinis are a popular choice this season. Offering more coverage than your typical string bikini yet oozing sexiness, the style is reminiscent of 1950s pin-up girls.
“A 1950s-style bikini is perfect for showing off those va va voom curves!” says Danielle. “The high-waisted bottoms are great for highlighting an hourglass figure, and are incredibly flattering across problem stomach areas.
“If you are blessed with a larger bust, choose a bra- or halterneck-style bikini top. These are much more preferable to flimsy string designs, which can offer little support. Ditsy prints like polka dots are an absolute must for this style. You can wear them year after year!”

Sporty
Sports luxe has been a huge trend for a few seasons now, but it seems 2015 is the year it really starts to dominate the swimwear market. Sports bra-inspired high-neck tops complete with mesh detailing are big news, as are bright block colours with contrasting black trims.
Danielle says: “A sports inspired bikini is perfect for lazy days in the sun and splashing around in the pool. However, the shape isn’t for everyone. While they are incredibly flattering for athletic and boyish shapes, the high-neck cut can make ladies with a bigger bust look top-heavy.
“If you do have larger breasts and you are considering this style, I’d advise choosing one with mesh detailing to reduce the coverage over your bust. That way, you can have the best of both worlds.”
Plunge swimsuit
If you’re looking for something a little sexier, choose a swimsuit with a deep plunge neck. While you may think you’re covering up in a bathing suit, the plunge neck is sure to grab attention.
Danielle comments: “Plunge swimsuits are great as they can be worn by women of any size. Suits that offer little support around the bust are best suited to women will smaller busts. If you have larger breasts, choose a style that offers additional support to prevent squashing and provide an extra lift.
“Because the plunge adds detail to the swimsuit, choose a classic Ibiza-ready colour like black, white or red. Team with a floppy sunhat for ultimate glamour.”
