Product Review: Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Eau de Parfum

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon

I am a perfume lover, always have and always will be. I love smelling good, and I like being around amazing smelling people. I collect a lot of perfumes but I don’t keep all the bottles, wish I had the space to keep them all. However, the only perfume bottle I am 100% going to be keeping for a long time think is my new Marc Jacobs Decandence, and if you have seen the bottle, you will know why. I will be writing a review on that perfume soon, so keep your eyes peeled, but for now, we are going to discuss Viktor & Rolf’s Bonbon Eau de Parfum.

I first came across the Viktor & Rolf perfume brand when I used their first perfume – Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, some years ago. That was my first time hearing of the brand, and the perfume was recommended by the sales girl at the perfume counter at that time. I decided to give it a go. Thank God I did, because I got to discover how amazing Viktor & Rolf perfumes really are. So when Bonbon was released, I knew I had to have it.

Viktor & Rolf

Here is how the brand describes this fragrance:

BONBON, a timeless sensation inviting a pure and absolute pursuit of pleasure. She who wears Bonbon, dresses herself in perfume whilst creating her own story. She is empowered, beautiful and complete.

Caramel characterizes the scent’s evolution. From inception to completion, the caramel notes mature from a sharp, edible top note to softer and milkier in the middle than darkening to add depth to the base note. A pure delight, a haute confection.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. The bottle is so beautiful and unique, shaped as a butterfly. I am contemplating keeping the bottle once am done with the perfume.
  2. It smells amazing. It has a very sweet fragrance, and I get so many compliments when I wear this perfume.
  3. It is long-lasting. I wear this perfume quite regularly and it stays on all day.

CONS

  1. The price. My 30ml bottle costs me a whooping £50 at Debenhams, and that is the smallest bottle available. However if you know anything about the Viktor & Rolf perfume brand, you will know they do not come cheap. A 50ml bottle costs £70.50, while a 90ml bottle goes for £96. The good thing about this is because it smells so good, and is long-lasting, you won’t need to spray too much. A little here and there will do for the entire day.

I recommend this perfume to any lady thinking of what perfume to try this spring/summer. If you have the funds to splash or just feeling like spoiling yourself, Viktor & Rolf Bonbon is the perfume to get. It is worth every penny, trust me.

What do you think of this perfume? Have you tried any perfumes from the Viktor & Rolf brand?

Product Review/Swatches – NYX & Barry M Lipsticks

Hey peeps. I finally decided to try some drug store lipsticks. I know I have talked about doing this for sometime now, so I popped into my local Boots, and had a good look around, then finally settled on a NYX Matte Indie Flick Lipstick and a Barry M Lip Stain Paint in Eternal Coral.

NYX Matte Indie Flick Lipstick

This is my first time trying a NYX lipstick.  I have heard quite  a lot about the NYX makeup range, and seen a lot of YouTube reviews and blog pots about the brand, so I knew I had to try it for myself. I must confess the price put me off at a first, it goes for £6.50, and I am use to spending £15 and over for 1 lipstick, so I thought this won’t be good enough, but I am happy to announce that I was pleasantly surprised.

Here is what NYX has to say about their lipsticks:

NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I love the colour a lot. It is perfect for summer.
  2. It is so matte, but doesn’t dry out my lips like other matte lipsticks.
  3. It is a great price for the quality of lipstick.
  4. It is long-lasting, even without a lip primer. It stayed on for hours.
  5. I love the cute packaging, with the see through plastic. I think it is so cute.

NYX Indie Flick Swatch

CONS

None.

I LOVE this lipstick. I think I am sold on anything NYX now, let’s see.

Barry M Lip Paint Eternal Coral

This is my first time trying a Barry M lipstick. I have heard and seen a lot of Barry M makeup in stores, but like my previous issue with NYX, the price was my issue. I struggled to believe a £4.49 Barry M lipstick would be as good as a £15.50 MAC lipstick, so I never bothered with them until now.

Here is what Barry M has to say about their lipsticks:

New Stain Paint provides a rich velvet matte finish for long, long, long-lasting colour. Available in three amazingly long-lasting lip staining shades, discover Barry M’s new LipStains in their shining new silver packs – Absolute Burgundy, Eternal Coral and Infinite Pink.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I love the Eternal Coral shade. It is so different from all my other lipsticks.
  2. It is super affordable.
  3. It moisturises the lips perfectly.

Barry M Eternal Coral Stain

CONS

  1. It has more of a butter finish than matte finish.
  2. I am a matte kind of girl, and this lipstick is not matte enough for me.
  3. The colour is a little too light for my liking. I had to apply and reapply quite a few times, to get the colour to pop out.

Overall, I will recommend both lipsticks. For the price you pay, they are really worth it, especially the NYX lipstick. I will definitely be buying that again and shopping more from the brand.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What do you think of them? Sound off in the comment section.

Thanks for reading.
