I have been binge watching The Real Housewives of Potomac on Amazon Video and I really like the show. My sister introduced me to it and I am hooked now. I find the women really entertaining. They remind me of the The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Married to Medicine cast. So if you are bored and in need of a new series to watch, you should change them out on Amazon Video. Robyn Dixon from The Real Housewives of Potomac is a beauty muse. I love her distinct look a lot. Her hair and makeup always look good and she has a relaxed sense of style which I love.

Robyn Dixon is a natural beauty. Her amazing facial features give her this distinct look and she knows how best to highlight her strong features. Dixon’s flawless skin and gorgeous green eyes are captivating. She looks so beautiful with or without makeup, which is why she loves being makeup free whenever she can.

I absolutely love being makeup-free. I am probably makeup-free 80 percent of the time. It feels great when I receive compliments from strangers on my appearance when I am not wearing any makeup. – Robyn Dixon.

I can relate with loving being makeup free. It feels liberating to be able to leave the house without makeup on. I enjoy applying makeup and I have loads I play with it but I also not wearing any makeup. I know many people struggle to leave the house without some form of makeup on, and I was like that many years ago, but not anymore. Feeling beautiful is more of an inside job, like many other things.

How to do a professional manicure step by step

Having a manicure is a great way to treat yourself and your nails. There’s the right way to manicure as well as the lazy way. To get your nails looking great, you should ensure you follow the professional manicure steps. There are no shortcuts when it comes to beauty and skincare. You have to follow the necessary steps to achieve the look you are going for.

The first thing to do is to remove the old nail polish.

Never be tempted not to. The best way to remove your old polish is with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover. This works best when you hold the stacked cotton pad over the nail for a minute so it absorbs the polish before wiping it off. This also ensure you wipe off your nail polish neatly without it spilling over to the sides of the nail.

 

Apply Cuticle Cream

Once the old nail polish is off, you should apply cuticle cream. This does wonders for your nails, especially when you lay your hands on the right one.

 

Shape the Nails

You should shape the nails using a nail file. Only use a scissors if you want to really reduce the length of the nails. Best to share with a nail file from edge to centre at an angle. File the tip downwards by holding the nail file vertically.

Buff and Colour

A good buffing of the nails is your next step, then colour. A base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat work great if you have the time. Most times, I just buff and apply a clear polish, and I am good to go. It all depends on the look you are going for. Also, it is best to paint from bottom to top vertically and make sure you are using good quality nail polishes to achieve the desired results.

I am not a fan of the quick nail polish drying method, I like to put my foot up and do nothing for a few minutes after painting my nails. However, if I need to do something with my hands, I wait until my nails are touch dry and then I run a cold water tap over them for a few seconds. This method helps the nails dry a lot quicker.

Review – Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Wash

I fell in love with the Aveeno brand some years ago.  Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Lotion was the first product I used by the brand and I was sold on it. I wrote a review about how good the body lotion last year. So catch up on that Aveeno review blog post if you missed it. The kiddies also reviewed the Aveeno Baby Range last year, and it is a lovely range for their skin. We still use these Aveeno skincare products as they are amazing for our skin. Which is why I decided to try the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Wash some weeks ago, and I am glad I did. It is a fab moisturising body wash and it does the work pretty good. I can’t see myself using any other type of body wash now. This by far the best I have tried in ages.

Years ago, I used to think Aveeno skincare products were not for our type of skin, but I was so wrong. The products are so amazing for our skin. They leave our skin clean, nourished and moisturised. I am glad I discovered the brand and gave it a go.
