When moving into a home, it’s true that your home can sometimes look pretty bland and samey. This is offset a little by the amount of decorations and furniture you bring with you, of course, but even then, sometimes you might think that your home feels like something out of an IKEA showroom more so than anything else, at least right now.

That’s totally okay because this gives you a wonderful grounding for designing the rooms exactly how you like them. But how can you make each room feel visually distinct without going overboard and having to renovate everything right now? Well, as you’ll see in this post, often it’s the small things that make the most difference, and that you don’t have to have an overbearing amount of items in any space for the room to take on a sense of character and definition.

The advice in this post should also translate to any room, be that a master bedroom, your children’s room, or living space. Without further ado, let’s started:

Different Lighting

It’s a good idea to focus on differentiating your lighting from room to room in order to fit where that room is oriented in your house, how much natural light it gets, and what ambience you’re going for. Your room, for instance, might benefit from a lamp either side of the master bedroom, helping the space feel beautiful and light. For your children’s rooms, Lepro LED lamps might be the best option, adding some awesome textured or even coloured lighting to the space. That can give each room it’s unique identity without even having to fill the space with additional furniture.

A Proper ‘Theme’

‘Themes’ can make a big difference when defining a space and making sure it works for you. For instance, your son might absolutely adore pirates and seafaring life right now, and so stencilling anchors and other boating imagery around the room, such as hanging a lifebuoy on a wall or helping them build a miniature replica ship to proudly place atop their chest of drawers could be a great idea. You don’t have to get so involved in that way with all rooms for instance, but it can be nice to make sure each room has its own visual identity, even if that serves as a uniquely coloured feature wall and nothing else.

Utility Cabinets

Utility cabinets are worth considering, because depending on how a room is used and what items you have stored there, the placement, size and shape of these can be very different. For instance, your young son may benefit from a space to properly store their games console and television neatly, securely, and with wires running around the back instead of serving as a trip hazard you can fall over. Little implements like this can make a massive difference provided we focus on them, and always provide a custom fit solution for each room as necessary.

With this advice, you’re sure to help each room of your house stand out.

You will be the boss so you can leave your trusted staff to do the job and enjoy life more.

Help Out A Worthy Cause

If you are looking to change your career but also give back in a way you could look at getting a job as a fundraiser. There are all sorts of businesses like hospitals, nonprofits, and many more that need to raise money for their business to survive. They will also pay someone to come in and help them do that. Depending on the company you work for it can be quite a high-paying job. It would be your job to come up with inventive, creative, and cost-effective ways to help raise money to keep things afloat. Whether that is through a big ad campaign or something smaller like bake sales, car washes, and different things that people can do within their community. Not only will you be changing your career for the better but you will also be making a huge difference for a good cause and helping people who need it.
