How to Style Jewellery with Different Outfits

I love to look good, whether it’s a day trip shopping or an evening out. I love my accessories; I believe no outfit is ever complete without accessories. And when I say accessories, of course I mean jewellery. I’m not one to splurge extravagantly and tend to stick to a few high-quality pieces of designer jewellery as an investment. I then take these and style them in the best way to complement what I’m wearing.

High class jewellery can elevate any outfit to the next level. No matter what gender you are, jewellery can add the perfect finishing touch to what you’re wearing. Here are a few ideas on how best to style your jewellery –

Complementing Not Competing

Even if you don’t tend to wear too much jewellery, a pendant or a necklace is a good choice as you can dress it up or down to match your personal style. However, it’s important to have a selection of different types of necklace as one size definitely doesn’t fit all.

If you’re wearing a V-neck top or dress, a slightly longer necklace can work really well – but make sure it’s not so long that it vanishes down your cleavage! A box, sweetheart or deep U-shaped neckline will need a much shorter necklace. If you want to show off a statement necklace or one of the modern layered necklaces, a roll neck or crew neck in a block colour will provide the perfect base.

Halter necks are the one exception: they don’t work well with necklaces. With all the emphasis on the neckline, there’s just too much going on for a necklace to be anything but a distraction. I see ladies break this rule everything and it looks horrible.

Consider Other Accessories

When you’re putting your outfit together, thinking about the colour and style of your clothing is common sense, but don’t forget about the rest of your accessories too.

Bags are a big feature point for most women and if you’ve chosen a large and chunky style, then delicate and understated jewellery will just be overpowered. You should also make sure that hair accessories such as bands and clips, plus belts, bags and shoes sync in style with your jewellery, and that the colours look good together as well.

Keep an Arm Free

There’s something very powerful about a man wearing jewellery when it’s done without any sense of overt showiness, and carried off with an almost casual air.

Designer jewellery for men has come full circle and it’s once again in vogue, but now there’s a far greater variety of materials and styles to choose from. There are precious metals such as gold and silver, as well as very contemporary designs including leather, beads and braids. Most of the rules have gone out of the window: forget about not mixing beads and leather with a smart suit. You can now find luxury men’s bracelets in a wide range of styles and materials, so you can rock that suit jacket with a braided cord if that’s what you like.

The one rule that still applies is that you should try to keep it to just one wrist. If you usually wear a watch, you’ll need to pick a bracelet which works well next to it. Wearing accessories on both wrists is still a fashion faux pas that no man should make.

Classy and Contemporary

I like to think that no matter what kind of jewellery I choose to wear, I get my styling on point. Taking a few moments to think about your outfit in its entirety can make a big difference and help you to get the most out of the accessories you’re rocking.

A Ruby Jewellery Wishlist

Like most women, I love my jewellery. I won’t say I am a huge jewellery lover, but when I do shop for jewellery, I like to go for quality over quantity. I like to spend a tiny bit more to ensure I buy what would last me for years to come. I see jewellery as an investment.

I recently got a huge jewellery box from a high street store some days, and I am loving the huge space I now have for storing my jewellery. It feels good to have them stored properly, and all in one place. There is no point in spending some much money on jewellery, only to have them stored wrongly right?

I have been lusting after some amazing looking jewellery on the Diamond Treats website for some days now, and I am truly spoilt for choice. For those who don’t know, Diamond Treats is an online jewellery retail store by Satyan Jewellers, established since 1982, and they stock some of the most pretty jewellery I have ever seen.

I have been lusting after some many of the jewellery on the website, but here are a few that have really caught my eye –
