Here are some styling ideas for the gentlemen to try out this spring:

The most dramatic improvement you can make in your style is to make sure every piece fits perfectly. Most men wear clothes that are too large. Make sure every piece you put on is almost hugging the shape of your body, without being to tight. That is the right fit. Bad fit is an epidemic, cure yourself.

  • Accessories

Never underestimate the power of accessories. Accessorizing correctly means you have paid every attention to the details, and that says a lot about your style. The last thing you put on is usually the first thing people notice. Accessories have the power to give you a completely different look; cool shoes, interesting jewellery or a subtle pocket square they can make you look modern and stylish immediately.

  • Keep It Simple

Keep It Simple

Do not wear more than three pieces of jewellery and colours at once. Do not dress like a rock star, unless you are in a band. You can still look flashy and simple at the same time by going for flashing accessories instead of clothing. So a flashy watch and dressy shoes, instead of a flashy blazer. Get it?

  • Edit Your Wardrobe

Restructure your wardrobe every year or every season, if you can afford to. Clothes and accessories need breathing space so keep your wardrobe organised and make sure there is enough room for everything. Consider giving old and unwanted clothes to charity, or sell them on eBay.

  • Signature Style

Invest time and money into your image. Your style is a huge mode of communication, and it speaks volume.

  • Invest In Superb Pair Of Shoes

Most men disregard their shoes. This is a no-no. Show you are a man of great taste by investing in a great pair of shoes.

  • Experiment With Your Style

Try out new pieces and accessories every now and again. Step outside your comfort zone and discover your taste. So many guys are afraid to express themselves through their style, don’t be one of them.

Fashion Criminal – Leigh Francis aka Keith Lemon

So I am starting a new blog series titled Fashion Criminal. This weekly blog series will feature celebrities committing fashion crimes all over the web.

Leigh Francis, better known as Keith Lemon is our first fashion criminal on Fashion and Style Police.

The World Premiere of

Leigh Francis is an English entertainer, best known for creating Channel 4’s Bo Selecta and portraying Keith Lemon in several ITV shows here in the UK. Leigh Francis wears a lot of loud shirts and bright colours with statement suits. Although statement suits and loud shirts are trendy at the moment, wearing them all together is not.

The fashion rule is when you wear a loud piece, everything else has to be understated. Leigh Francis has broken this rule multiple times.

Leigh Francis’ image is out of style and it does not flatter his natural blonde colouring, and his body shape. He urgently needs my expert styling services, and is sentenced to a makeover session.  Leigh Francis can be funny and stylish at the same time by looking simple. Looking simple is about bridging the gap between distinction and discretion. Simple is strong and masculine. Simple means you are the one getting the attention, not the clothes. Simple is about understated clothes and accessories worn with confidence.

I will style our fashion criminal; Leigh Francis, with dark and neutral colours, but with a pop of colour to wake up his look depending on the occasion or TV show. I will aim to have him in mainly plain leather, cotton and wool fabrics. There can be patterns in his outfits; but they will be restrained, there will be colours; but they will be muted, they will be accessories; but they will be functional.
