What fashion accessories you should wear depending on the job you have

Accessories are part of every woman’s arsenal and, if chosen correctly, they can give a whole new meaning to your entire outfit. Yet, if these are chosen regardless of the period or occasion, such as a formal meeting, they can entirely ruin your look. So how can you wear fashion accessories and look fabulous at your workplace?

Getting the office look right

To always make a good impression at your workplace, you must keep in mind that not every accessory is suitable. It’s necessary to accessorize adequately, so don’t wear anything exaggerated, extravagant, or out of fashion. Another good advice is to always choose something that relates to the nature of your job. Without any doubt, the key to success is and will always be a sense of balance.

Styling your accessories for work

For example, if you work in sales or have a law-related activity, avoid the big, opulent, oversized fashion accessories that can give your wardrobe the air of extravagance. The people you are interacting with will need to be able to concentrate on the discussion and on the arguments you provide, rather than be swiped away by your accessories and wonder why you chose to wear this or that. With this in mind, you should choose subtle accessories that can accentuate your style, like a pair of pearl earrings or a delicate silver necklace.

In case you do want to wear some oversized accessories from time to time, then pick out a monochrome classic outfit that you can accessorize with a statement necklet. For example, you could go for a jacket, turtleneck, a pair of crayon pants and stiletto shoes, all in black, with which you can wear a silver statement necklace. In this simple manner, you will have a balanced outfit and it can also produce some effects.

The power of fashion accessories

Although many people believe that the main problem is wearing too many accessories, even if they are missing entirely can also represent a mistake. For instance, if you work as an assistant manager or have any other job that involves decision-making, the lack of fashion accessories will make you look sober and commanding, which will not be in your advantage. Try, as much as you can, to add appropriate fashion accessories to your wardrobe, such as a wristwatch, a pair of earrings, a necklace or a subtle bracelet, pieces that will give you a more feminine and delicate look.

If you are a fan of the boho chic style, you can confidently wear handmade accessories in vibrant color if you work in a creative environment (copywriting or photography) because these will bring out your personality. As an example, the purple color inspires the presence of artistic qualities, thus projecting that you are perfectly capable of taking on creative tasks, while yellow brings out optimism and resistance to stress.

If you work in fashion, glamour or online modeling, then you can choose a more relaxed wardrobe or a smart-casual look, to which you can add special accessories. A casual black dress that serves as a canvas for a statement necklace or a simple white shirt combined with a black stone necklace, skinny jeans, and black stiletto shoes can represent two great outfits. It all depends on you and the way you choose to show your personality via the fashion accessories you wear.

  1. I really find accessories hard work. I love jewellery and think statement pieces look amazing. But, I just don’t have the confidence. I am trying to be more proactive and wear earrings more often as I think this is a great way to add to an outfit.

    • Yes it is a great way to add some character to your overall look. You can start small and see how it goes.

  2. I think my favorite fashion accessories for work are necklaces and scarves. Unfortunately though, I usually end up in the lab doing experiments so I can’t wear these things :(. But on the days when I am in the office, I definitely took advantage and accessorized!

  3. It’s so true that you need to look professional. There are a lot of options out there for the workplace, too! 🙂

  4. I have always love the idea of wearing accessories that complement you. Unfortunately, I always worked in places where I needed to wear an “uniform” and couldn’t use accessories very often. Love your suggestions though!
