Spring Decorating Ideas

*Collaborative post.

Spring is here and it is time to start thinking of spring decorating ideas to incorporate into our home. It feels good to actually have a spring weather this year. This time last year, the weather was so warm, it didn’t feel like spring at all. It felt like we pretty much skipped spring and went straight to summer. So this weather is good. The only thing I don’t like about this time of the year is Hay Fever. It’s been hard for me, and I have started struggling already. I do have my prescription medicines I take for my Hay Fever and they help. I just need to remember to take them first thing in the morning to get me through the day.

Hay Fever aside, this weather is good. It has got me thinking of new ways to decorate our home. I have been busy on Pinterest looking at various ways of adding some spring into our living spaces and I am feeling really inspired. Spring is all about being bold and vibrant, and channeling that vibrant and bright colours into my home is the goal this season.

Here are 2 spring decorating ideas for you –

Adding some spring flowers or indoor plants

Flowers have the power to change the look of a room instantly. They are a cheaper of beautifying a room, which is why they are so popular. I like having flowers at home, especially in the spring/summer months. Flowers make the home look more colourful and in tune with the season. If you are after some spring decoration ideas, and you are short on budget or space to play around with, try changing the flower arrangement in your home. Adding some fresh flowers will instantly wake up any room.

If indoor plants are more of your thing, then go for them! Finding the best spot to place your plants can be tricky but once you do, half the job is done.

Mix and match pattens and make the most of your home

Mixing and matching various patterns is another way to incorporate spring into your home. Having a combination of different patterns is important in having the spring feel in your home. All you need to remember with this tip is to ensure the colour palette remains the same tonally. So you can keep the same level of brightness or softness, so the look is balanced, with nothing standing out.

This is a great tip for those who are short of space and want to switch things up with their interior decor. We are slowly outgrowing our town house, and if I had my way, we would move into a bigger house, in the same location. If I could wish a bigger house on the same plot, I would because I love the area we live in and I hate moving. The whole idea of moving house scares me. I know there are many home moving companies available now that can take the stress out of moving, which is great to know they are available for when we do need them. A very good moving company, I have recently come across is Matco – Calgary long distance movers.  So I know there are loads of options available everywhere and for every budget.

Like most things, when it comes to interior decor, the most important thing is what works for your and your home. Don’t get plants just because it is a trend, if you can’t take care of them. Decorating your home with bright and vibrant colours would do you no good if you don’t like colours like that. It is good to know what trends are in vogue so you can pick and choose which you like. That way you create a living space that works for you and yours.
