Keeping the kids engaged this summer

The summer holidays are usually long and it is not an easy feat to keep young kids engaged and busy. This summer 2020, it is even harder to keep the little ones engaged and busy with all that we have going on. It feels like it’s been a long year but we only just started the second half of the year some weeks ago. I have been working from home and homeschooling the kiddies since March. It has not been an easy job but I choose to make the most of the time we spend together. Luckily, I rounded up university work early April, so that was one thing off the list of things to do. And I could focus fully on work and the twins. We closed for the term some weeks ago and are now just taking each day as it comes.

Keeping the kids engaged this summer

With us not being able to go on holiday and do much outdoors really, we have had to really think outside the box. Our summer days look a lot like these –

Long walks

We try to leave the house every day (weather permitting) to go for long walks around our estate. We make our walks fun by talking about what we seeing. The kids are forever looking out for bees, snails, and the likes. Our walks sometimes turn to runs when we get to our local park. It is nice and quiet and the twins enjoy running around there while I catch my breath.

Trampoline

Having a trampoline along with other garden toys is a good investment. My little ones could jump around in the trampoline all day if I let them. Having swings, slides, pools, and other garden toys are also great ways of keeping the children entertained for some time. I know a family that completely transform their garden space every sunny day. They have artificial grass and they make the most of it. Their little one is so lucky, she gets a huge tent and lots of toys out when the weather is nice. The garden looks like a soft play on sunny days; a beauty to behold.

Board games

We have recently gotten into board games as a family. I played lots of board games growing up and I am happy to see my twins are really into them now. They love playing Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly and Scrabble. Playing board games is a great way to spend time engaged as a family and sometimes the kiddies enjoy playing on their own. I got this portable board set below and it has changed our free time for the better.

These are just some of the ways we are spending our summer days. It has been fun and the extra time with no planned holiday has allowed us to be more creative with what we have around us. How are you keeping the little ones engaged this summer? Please sound off in the comments section below.

Becoming a Fashion Influencer: Tips and Tricks for Creating a Social Media Strategy

Becoming a Fashion Influencer: Tips and Tricks for Creating a Social Media Strategy picture

You know fashion, now it’s time to get your audience. Become a fashion influencer car with these tips and tricks for creating a social media strategy.

Most Americans want to become influencers. In fact, around 86% of people under 38 years old say that they would consider giving influencing others on social media a try.

However, if you want to become a fashion influencer, you should know that there is a lot of competition heading your way.

Therefore, if you want to make it as a leader in the fashion trends, you need to know about creating a social media strategy that works.

Check out the below blog post to discover our tips and tricks for making it big on social media. Let’s get started below!

1. Focus on One Social Media Platform

If you want to become a social media influencer, you need to focus on one platform. You won’t be able to build your audience on multiple networks at the same time.

If you really care about appealing to business types, LinkedIn is the place to go. You can really show off your knowledge of the latest industry trends here.

Are you all about aesthetics and design? You can’t beat Instagram for creating and posting beautiful content that your viewers will love.

YouTube is the network for you if you want to create amazing video content that really puts you on the path to becoming a fashion guru.

Twitter may not always appeal to fashion influencers. But, it’s a great place to debate with others about the biggest trends. Check out more about Twitter video download

Finally, Tik Tok is the new kid on the block. These short video clips are enough for you to amaze your audience with your latest wardrobe.

2. Know Your Niche

If you want to become an influencer on social media, you need to ensure you know what your niche is.

Fashion generally is too broad. You need to stick to a narrow niche that can really help you grow your influence on the topic.

This could be anything from athleisure to sexy heels. You don’t necessarily need to grow your account to thousands of followers to make it as an influencer.

If you have a captive audience of hundreds of dyed-in-the-wool fans, then you’ll attract the big bucks you need to establish yourself.

Don’t wander away from your niche either. If someone clicked on your account for the summer beach fashion range, don’t mention your political opinions.

3. Post Regularly and Consistently

Your followers expect regular posts on your social media networks. You can’t be shocked when people unfollow you for lack of activity.

Schedule your posts on social media. This could be every day in the mornings or once a week on Saturdays.

It doesn’t really matter how frequently. What’s important is that you keep your social media activity consistent.

However, if you actually want to make a buzz about your Instagram, you should probably be posting Instagram Stories every day.

Remember, you don’t have to shoot new videos and pictures each day. Do everything in batches and post it out bit by bit.

4. Include Blog Content

Pictures and videos can only get you so far. People also want to read what you have to say with captions everywhere.

Whether this is on descriptions for your YouTube channel or on your Instagram posts, you need to ensure that you include relevant blog content.

As a fashion influencer, you should include the stores and prices of every item of clothing you’re presenting on your pictures.

That’s how you’ll be able to draw in the cash for your social media presence. Don’t forget to include the links so you get the credit as well.

But, it’s also about being an inspiration to your audience. This could include adding passionate slogans to your posts.

5. Engage With Your Audience

The beauty of social media is that the traffic goes both ways. It’s not only a platform for you to broadcast to the world- but it’s also a way to talk to your audience.

This is really important if you want to build your audience and make them feel part of something bigger than themselves.

Many people will be inspired by your fashion tips and insights into how to look good. You should give them the chance to chat with you.

Run Q and A sessions on YouTube or Facebook Live. This is an awesome way to make your audience feel special.

Whenever you post anything, take some time to respond to the first comments so that people know you’re actually who you say you are.

You also want your community to talk to each other. Encourage dialogue about your statement shoes or your bright colored hats.

6. Discover Your Audience

Your audience should also influence your content. You need to learn as much as possible about your followers.

This could include asking questions, running polls, and posting surveys. These are great ways to get answers to your most urgent questions.

Are you appealing mostly to guys? Are you better at reaching out to older women compared with older men?

However, you can also run data analytics. This allows you to determine when your audience is most likely to click on your links, for example.

This could inform how you make decisions about the content you post on social media. You don’t want to lose your audience because of ignorance.

Travel destinations on my mind

I miss travelling so much and I am sure I am not the only one. Being able to visit different counties and experience life in another spot on the planet is a blessing. We have a couple of travel destinations we were hoping to visit this year but all those plans have been put on hold. Some of the places we had in mind to visit are places we have visited before but we never get tired of visiting.

Here are some of the travel destinations on my mind at the moment –

Disneyland Paris

We visited Disneyland Paris many years ago before the twins were born. I was really looking forward to visiting the park again with them. Disneyland is such an amazing place to visit. The kiddies love rides and all, so I know they are going to love it there. I am looking forward to visiting the park with them in the future when all the chaos and confusion are a distant memory.

Dubai

We have all visited Dubai a few times and that place never gets old. It is such a cool holiday destination. I love everything about Dubai. The weather is nice, the hotels are always so luxurious and there are so many things to do and see. We will definitely be visiting Dubai again.

Los Angeles

I have visited many cities in the United States but never had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles. It has been on my travel list for years now, so it will be nice to strike it off one day.

Malta

I have heard amazing things about Malta and I would love to see the country for myself one day. It is one of those travel destinations that sound good for relaxing.

Greece

Greece is another country we would love to explore one day. I have heard only good things about the country. It is definitely on my list of countries to visit.

I love travelling so much but I must confess, I am not in a hurry to resume exploring for now. The chaos and confusion going on is so off-putting, that travelling is the last thing on my mind.

What do you think of these travel destinations? Have you been to any of these places?
