Life Update and Thank You 2023

Hey friends! I can’t believe the year 2023 is almost over. It has been a very busy year; a year I can never forget with the many highs and a few lows. I am not one to dwell on the “lows” though as it is a waste of vital resources. Hence, I always focus on the good, noble, and positive experiences. Here are some of the things I have been up to this year –

Study

I have been up to all sorts, work and life has been really busy! As many of you are aware, I took a leap of faith and went back to university a few years ago to study a degree in Psychology. I finished the degree with a First Class in the summer at The Open University, and this led to a new adventure in September. I am currently studying a Masters degree in Health Psychology at Aston University, Birmingham. I was privileged to get a scholarship for this degree, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to specialise in Health Psychology. Health Psychology is something I am very passionate about and I have had my eye on this Masters degree for a few years now. It’s a lot of work and fun at the same time, right up my street, which is just amazing.

Work

With regards to work, many of you may be aware I went back to traditional employment last year. I am still working in the same organisation remotely but in a different role – Relational Mentor, which is now more relevant to my areas of interest. It’s a fantastic role and I am so thankful for the golden opportunity to do what I enjoy to do best.

Blog

So yes, the year 2023 has been very busy in general. I am glad it’s over and I am looking forward to the new year. My blog posts have not been as regular as I wanted them to, due to how busy the year has been, but I am getting into the swing of things, so expect more regular blog posts in the new year and going forward. There will be a few changes as to regards to the content. I won’t be writing blogs on beauty muse and style icons anymore. Also, the tone of the blog posts will likely change slightly and become more personal. I have been running Fashion and Style Police for 11 years now, and a lot has changed in my life as anyone could imagine. So look out for new blog categories and new changes here and there.

New Year Resolutions

With the new year usually comes new year resolutions and it is always exciting to set them in the early days but sticking to them is another matter entirely. Back in the day, I started each year with a list of things i wanted to do or not do and it usually went south shortly after. Over time I have gradually stoped caring to compose a list and nowadays it comes even occur to me to create a list of resolutions. Now there is nothing wrong wIth having new year resolutions if they work for you. It works amazingly well for some of us but not so much for others, and that is the beauty of life.

I have found new year resolutions to be a complete waste of my time for the most part, and I prefer being intentional about every day living and work on creating the life I want on a daily basis. Living intentionally and setting daily resolutions work better for me, and I won’t have it any other way.

What do you think of new year resolutions? Do you have them and do you stick to them for the whole year? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below, let’s chat. Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you an amazing new year with all the goodness and blessings the world has to offer.

It is so exciting to start another year. I have been looking forward to 2022. The last year felt like it carried on for way too long, especially towards the end of the year. It sort of felt like 2021 would never end so I am glad we are now in the new year at last. This year 2022 has started off nicely already and I am really looking forward to all the year brings.

I have a lot planned for this year and I can’t wait to get started. Uni is still ongoing and I am really getting into the realms of psychology. It is such an interesting degree for me; I am looking forward to where it takes me.

There will be loads of posts on Fashion and Style Police this year, just like the previous nine years. So expect more product reviews, fashion and beauty posts, lifestyle and freelancing posts, and even new outfit posts. I will also be exploring starting off new categories on here and on YouTube, so keep reading and watching.

You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. I plan to be sharing more posts on my social media pages going forward.

How was your Christmas break? Do you have new year’s resolutions set already? Do sound off in the comments section. Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely rest of the day wherever you are. Stay safe.
