The Healing Power of Vitamin C

With all the pandemic talk going on, it is a lot more important to take good care of our health. I am usually not a fan of supplements in general but I ensure I take them on daily basis because I know they help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Vitamin C is one important supplement to take everyday. It is s an essential vitamin, because the body can’t produce it. However, it has many roles and amazing health benefits. The healing power of Vitamin C can’t be overemphasised. Which is why I make sure I take my daily Vitamin C supplement alongside a good balanced diet. Vitamin C can be found in many fruits and vegetables – sweet potato, mango, oranges, strawberries, kiwi fruit, bell peppers, broccoli, kale, spinach, papaya and guava. The daily intake recommended for Vitamin C is 75 mg for women and 90 mg for men. It is best to get the required recommendation from foods, but taking supplements also help.

What happens when you don’t take the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C

Not taking the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C causes Scurvy, which affects the body’s systems. Scurvy symptoms range from fatigue, and weakness, to red and swollen gums. This is why we have to ensure we take the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C to stay healthy and boost our immunity.

Fashion illustrations are back

I took a fashion styling course in London College of Style many years ago. The course really opened my eyes to fashion and style, I really enjoyed it. It was the fashion course that led to me setting up Fashion and Style Police. Although, my career as a fashion stylist never really took off, the knowledge I gained from the fashion styling course shaped my view on all things fashion. I fell in love with fashion illustrations many years ago, and I had the opportunity to really play around with fashion art while taking the fashion styling course at London College of Style. It was an amazing experience.

What is fashion illustration?

It is art. It is conversing fashion ideas in a visual form through sketching, drawing, and painting. If you are blessed enough to be able to illustrate fashion through sketching, drawing or painting, you deserve an award.

Fashion illustrations are just so creative. It is amazing how stylish they look even on paper! I am glad to see fashion has retuned to the drawing board, and back and better with more illustrations about. A lot of thought and energy goes into creating these illustrations and it is through them many pieces and accessories we put on are created. Fashion illustrations are simply creativity on wheels!

Apart from fashion illustrations being creative and easy on the eye, they give me loads of styling ideas. I get a lot of style inspiration just by looking at them. That was one of the main reasons why I bought many fashion magazines back in the day. The fashion illustrations kept me glued but nowadays, I happily browse the web to have a look at what’s new in the fashion and style world.
