Helena Bonham Carter is famous for her unique talent and quirky stage presence, but she has been committing fashion crimes for a very long time, so she is the Fashion Criminal of the week on Fashion and Style Police.
This woman is a fashion disaster. Her quirky, eccentric style is not only plain wrong, it is all over the place. She wears some of the most ridiculous outfits I have ever seen. Her pieces and accessories are so weird, it is quite laughable. I get she doesn’t give two hoots on what people think about her fashion sense and she dresses for “herself” but I cannot get over the fact that she leaves her house dressed like a mismatched doll. Her disheveled look is an eye sore but then again her style icon is Lady Gaga, a previous fashion criminal, so what was I expecting?
No one can walk the streets looking like this, you will be mistaken for a crazy woman, except you are a Helena Bonham Carter. She once told the Daily Mail:
‘But fashion is all about having fun. I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mould and seeing that the world won’t crumble. For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That is what I love. I genuinely love dressing up.’
I agree with her. Fashion is all about having fun, but she has taken the idea of ‘fun’ to a completely different level. Real stylish women do not follow the dictates of the fashion industry, they create their own signature look and look fabulous. You can be quirky and fabulous.
