Product Review: Sukin Natural Skincare

I have been trying the Sukin Natural Skincare Range for some weeks now and I really like the products. They are natural and Vegan (which is really important to me) skincare products. I got a facial scrub and a foaming facial cleanser from the brand. Both products are really good. I use the cleanser every night and the facial scrub once a week.

This facial cleanser is a non-drying, gentle gel cleanser that purifies the skin, without stripping it of its natural oils. It is a natural blend of Rosehip Oil, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Witch Hazel, and Evening Primrose.

Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub 125ml

Sukin Skincare review image

This Revitalising Facial Scrub is a cream-based exfoliator. It uses gentle granules of biodegradable Bamboo Extract and Walnut Shell Powder to lightly exfoliate the skin, removing unwanted dirt and impurities. Some of the natural ingredients included are Chamomile, Rosehip Oil, Sesame Oil, and Aloe Vera.

Pros for both products
  • Both products contain only natural products.
  • I love the simple and practical packaging.
  • Sukin is a cruelty-free brand.
  • Both products contain no mineral oils, parabens, silicones, petrolatum, artificial colours, or harsh detergents.
  • I love the natural fragrances of the products.
  • They feel great on my skin. The facial scrub is cream-based and it feels amazing on my skin.
  • A little goes a long way with both products. For the cleanser, a pump is more than enough to cleanse the entire face.

5 Tips for Perfect Lips

When it comes to makeup, lipsticks are some of my favourite beauty products. I love wearing a bright shade even on no makeup days, like these days. A good lipstick has the power to wake up your face. I have quite a huge collection of lipsticks in a variety of shades, so I have stopped buying for now. It is funny to look back at the days I avoided putting up lipsticks because I didn’t know how best to apply them on my lips. If you are like how I was back in the day, you will find these 5 tips for perfect lips very useful.

Get the lightening right

The first thing you need to do is to make sure you are applying your lipstick under the brightest light possible. That way you have a good idea of how the shade really looks. The last thing you would want is to apply too much or too little lipstick because you have a dull light.

Use a lip brush

This is the oldest trick in the book. If you want your lipstick to stay on longer, use a lip brush. I know it is a lot easier to just apply the lipstick directly but using a lip brush gives a better finish and stays on a lot longer.

Line your lips

I always use a lip liner to line my lips before filling in with a lipstick. That way the lipstcik stays on longer and looks a lot better too!

Powder the lips

After applying the first coat with a lip brush, add some face powder lightly over the lips to act as a base for the second coat.

Blot and reapply

Once the first coat is applied, wait a minute, blot and reapply using a lip brush as before. These steps lock in the shade living a smoother finish which stays on for longer.

Hopefully, you find these 5 tips for perfect lips post useful. Have a lovely weekend. Stay safe xx

What is beauty really about?

There are so many articles and books about what beauty is and what makes us beautiful. Sometimes the tips and advice in these sources can be very conflicting, which ends us leaving us even more confused. What is beauty really about? To answer this question, I love John Kenneth Galbraith’s quote – There is certainly no absolute standard of beauty. That precisely is what makes its pursuit so interesting. There is no straight way of achieving beauty and there is no absolute standard of beauty. It is different for everyone, which is why we really should take these words of advice with a pinch of salt and work out which of the tips work for us.

Dealing with a bad day image

Every woman has her own beauty and I believe every woman is her own version of beautiful. I love the saying – Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We really should remember that when we look at these fancy magazines with models wearing perfect makeup.

Here are 2 ideas of what beauty is really about –

Being happy in yourself

Being happy in yourself is one of the most important beauty tips anyone could ever give. It can be tricky sometimes but being really happy is the most important beauty advice of all. Do whatever makes you happy in yourself.

Accepting your features

Embrace all that makes you you. Accept your features, fall in love with each and every one of them. Get to know them, get to understand how to work with them.

Living is more enjoyable than appearing

There is a lot more to a beautiful face. It pays to have an attractive face and I am not playing it down in anyway. However, I am usually more interested in the person behind the face. There is a lot more to a pretty face. As cliche as it sounds, beauty comes from within, living is way more enjoyable than appearing, so we should remember to live and not focus on just looking the part.

The luxury skincare and makeup products will not make you as attractive as you think if you are ugly on the inside. They may do little or nothing if that is all you are focusing on. It is easy to get obsessed with our looks, but we should remember not to neglect other parts that make us who we are. Which is why we should focus on our inside as much as we focus on our outside. Beauty is only skin deep, but real ugly goes clear to the bone.
