Charity of the Month – Comic Relief

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the long Easter weekend wherever you are. The sun is shining here. We have been enjoying the sunshine here for the last few days now. I hope the sunny days stay for a bit longer. The charity of the month this April is Comic Relief. A few weeks ago, Comic Relief celebrated Red Nose Day and it was great to see the different ways individuals and organisations got involved. It is always important to support charities who intern support others. This year has been tough for many people in different ways and I am always eager to get involved with charities and do my bit.

To drive positive change through the power of entertainment

How the donation is allocated

The money received from donations is allocated as grants to various charities. These charities help support those who are living tough lives in the UK and all around the world.

I think Comic Relief is doing an amazing job for those struggling to make ends meet. It is amazing to see how they support thousands of charities with grants.

Getting involved

You can get involved with Comic Relief through fundraising. Catch up on all the relevant information here. Also, you can also donate to Comic Relief. Your donations go a long way in shaping the lives of families all over the world. For example, £30 could support a child in Uganda to access early years education for a whole year, £50 could pay to get 200 meals to vulnerable children and their families in the UK. You can donate here. You can also support Comic Relief by shopping on their online store. They have cute noses, bottles, shirts, accessories and more on sale.

Charity of the Month – The Salvation Army

The charity of the month for October 2020 is The Salvation Army. I have heard a lot about this charity for many years now and I am glad to be in the position where I can spread the word about what the charity does. The Salvation Army is a worldwide evangelical Christian church and an international charitable organisation founded in 1865 in East London, England. Their mission is based on everyone experiencing life in all its fullness. The charity is based in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

The Salvation Army

We put our faith into action by offering practical help for people without discrimination, standing up for those who are vulnerable, fighting against injustice, and encouraging people to deepen their relationship with God. The services we offer are diverse and responsive to the realities of life in the communities we serve.

Charity of the Month – The Salvation Army

There are over 700 Salvation Army churches and 1,000 full-time ministers all over the UK and ROI. They offer practical help to vulnerable people who need support and advice. One of the ways they support people is by helping find and stay in work. The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus service offers tailored support to help people become job-ready. Unemployment is on the rise in many parts of the country, so having a charity work on getting people employed is amazing.

Salvation Army helps the homeless in the communities by providing them with temporary accommodations, which is huge. Homelessness is a big issue in many parts of the UK. It breaks my heart every time I come across someone sleeping rough. It is great to see a charity making it their mission to break the cycle of homelessness.
