Self-discovery has never been championed for previous generations as it is being done today. Society has become increasingly liberal and young people especially, are being encouraged to express their personality. For teenage girls, there is no better platform to express their individuality in the form of fashion than at prom.

Elle Fanning Covers ELLE UK February 2017

The lovely 18-year-old Elle Fanning is the cover girl for ELLE UK February 2017, and she looks beautiful.

I love how colourful the cover is. Her hair and makeup is on point (love the red lippie), and her blue outfit is very stylish. I really can’t fault this cover. ELLE ticked all the right magazine cover boxes.

I read a few excerpts from Elle Fanning’s interview with ELLE, and it sounds like it would be a great read. Here are some of them:

Limiting her social media presence

‘I recently turned my Instagram public on my 18th birthday, but I still don’t post everything I do, and I’m not on Twitter or Facebook. You have to leave a little mystery. With old movie stars, all you saw were rare interviews where they only shared what they wanted to – that’s what made them so interesting. You could separate the characters from the women, so if you watch them on-screen you’re not thinking about what they had for breakfast.’

I am impressed to see she is not as social media crazy as the rest of her peers. The deal with social media is to run it and not let it run you. She sounds like a smart young lady.

The power of silence

‘I’ve just finished shooting with Sofia Coppola and she’s one of the quietest people ever, but there’s a real power to her silence. When she just stares at you from across a take, you know you need to get the shot.’

I agree, there is real power in silence.

I would love to read this issue. I don’t see myself buying it, but I would grab it if I see it lying around in a waiting room for example.

What do you think of this issue? Will you be buying? Drop me a comment, let’s talk.
