Style Icon – Céline Dion

I have been a huge fan of Céline Dion for as long as I can remember. Her voice is so strong and amazing. I remember having all her albums back in the day. This legend has gone a bit quiet in the last couple of years but her music will live on forever and so will her amazing fashion sense. This style icon has an amazing wardrobe with stylish pieces and accessories and she knows how to wear them.

For those who do not know who Céline Dion is, she is a multiple award-winning French-Canadian singer known all over the world for her amazing voice. One of my favourite songs from her is – My Heart will go on. I love that song so much.

I started paying attention to Céline Dion’s personal style some years ago. If I was to put a date on it, I would say in the summer of 2016. I hear the person behind her new look is a fashion stylist known as Law Roach. This stylist is also the brain behind Zendaya’s amazing style, so I guess Dion is in good hands.

Céline Dion has an amazing body shape so most pieces tend to look great on her. She also knows how best to match her pieces and accessories, and has an amazing carriage.

I know many celebrities with a huge wardrobe filled with designer items and have some of the best stylists at their disposal, but with all the resources available, these celebrities never look good. So it is really not about what they have but what they do with what they have.

What I love about Céline Dion is the fact that she can look glamorous wearing almost anything. She can leave her house wearing pieces and accessories from the 90s, and look amazing. That is what I call a Style Icon. Someone who wears her clothes and not the other way round. It is hard to believe this stylish woman is 50 years old already. She could easily pass for a woman in her 40s.

What do you think of Céline Dion as a style icon?

Uncovering the secrets of a career in fashion

Have you ever thought of a career in fashion? Being a fashionista is more than following trends and bagging the latest designer pieces to flaunt when you head out onto the high street. Understanding fashion is about anticipating future trends and maybe even creating trends of your own for others to follow. The easiest way to do this is by forging a career within the fashion industry.

You don’t have to be the most adept artist or be the most creative thinker in order to work within the sector. There are plenty of roles alongside the designers that could see you mingling with other fashion professionals beside the catwalk. Take a look at how you could break into the fashion industry.

Management

Nothing could seem further from the iconic and creative industry that is fashion than the idea of management. However, every sector needs managers whether they specialise in finance, marketing, advertising or HR. Who do you think books the models, ensures the Spring Collection is delivered on budget and makes a brand instantly recognisable across the globe? If you have a head for figures or enjoy problem-solving, you might want to consider enrolling in an online supply chain management course that will allow you to become the ultimate resource planner for fashion shows.

Get Creative

If you have an artistic flair, but you have never chosen to follow this aspect of your skill set as a career, now might be the time to begin looking at relevant job opportunities. If you are willing to start at the bottom and work your way up, and you can demonstrate your fashionista credentials, fashion houses across the globe will take on apprentices to mould into their perfect industry professionals. While you might be honing your coffee making skills for a while, there will come a moment when you get a break in the industry. Designers such as Christian Louboutin had no formal training and started sketching shoes as a teenager before becoming the world’s leading ladies footwear creator.

Logistics

Instead of putting pen to paper and designing the latest collections, you might prefer to work behind the scenes. You could create the backdrops for catwalk shows, construct the perfect stage or work out the most iconic sound settings to create the ideal mood to accompany a collection. You could fall back on your people skills to ensure all of the models are organised, ready to go on time and that outfit changes are seamless. The world of fashion is renowned for being manic, chaotic and full of prima donnas. If you can manage this well enough, you will become a logistics maestro in demand by all fashion houses. A career in fashion is not for the faint-hearted and can be hugely stressful. But it can also give you the ultimate job satisfaction.

Fashion is exciting and creative. Many would say it’s a passion and in your blood. If you’re keen to pursue your passion for fashion, follow this advice and do everything in your power to break into the industry.

Spring Jackets for the Man in your Life

It is starting to feel like spring. The sun is out today and it feels a bit warmer. But I hear we are going to have a white Easter in England. Can you imagine that? I hope a miracle happens and the snow never appears. The snow is so exhausting now. I just want some normal spring weather. Is that too much to ask?

When spring finally appears for real, I will be confident enough to keep all our winter gear back into storage. I heard some proactive people bundled their winter gear into storage only to dig them out again when the Beast from the East appeared. I am happy I didn’t have to do that.

A new weather means a different type of clothing. Spring fashion is all about lighter and brighter pieces. So I am looking forward to the prints and florals hitting the stores soon. With that in mind, I have been doing some online window shopping and popping items into various wish lists. I have my eye on a few pieces for the myself, the kids and the hubby. And I am hoping to get them soon.

Spring jackets is high on the list for us all, especially the hubby. He has not shopped for spring items in ages, so there are loads of gaps in his wardrobe to fill.

Here are a few Ellesse spring jackets I have been eyeing lately.

Ellesse Berto 1/2 Zip Jacket Charcoal £55.00

I really like this Ellesse Berto 1/2 Zip Jacket Charcoal jacket. It is a beautiful light jacket with hand pockets and a cool branding on the chest. The elasticated trims to cuffs and hem are amazing features.

I hope to grab this piece for him really soon. The design is so amazing. Do you agree?

Ellesse Berto 1/2 Zip Jacket Yellow £50.00

The colour of this Ellesse Berto 1/2 Zip Jacket Yellow was the first thing that got my attention. I think it is a great spring jacket to have in the wardrobe this season. It features a half zip fastening with front zip pockets, with further detailing to arms and chest.

Many may shy away from this piece because of how bright it looks, but I think it is a beauty. Would your man like this?

Ellesse Mont 2 Cagoule Camo £70.00

This stylish Ellesse Mont 2 Cagoule Camospring jacket is my current favourite spring jacket for men. I love Camo pieces. The designs are always so beautiful and this jacket right here is no exception. The jacket features an underarm zip pull, a large kangaroo style pouch, a drawstring hood and an elasticated hem.

Are you a fan of Camo designs like me? Do you find them stylish?

Ellesse Sortoni Jacket Anthracite £50

This Ellesse Sortoni Jacket Anthracite jacket would be popular this spring because of the simplicity of it. It looks good and does the work beautifully, which is what most men who cannot be bothered with fashion need. I like the fact that it has a full zip front with fastened hand pockets.

I can see the hubby loving this particular spring jacket a lot.

Ellesse Caserta Hoodie True Red/White £55.00

This Ellesse Caserta Hoodie True Red/White spring jacket is another favourite mine. I love the colours – red, white and navy blue. The mixture of colours is such a beautiful design. It looks super sporty and casual which works for dressing down days.

I can picture my man rocking this jacket with a pair of black jeans and white trainers.
