Stylish Designer Summer Bags

*Collaborative post.

Spring is in full swing and summer is around the corner. It is almost time to get rid of the spring coats and embrace lighter pieces and stylish accessories. I am always excited to style summer pieces and accessories. The warm weather makes me want to shop my closet and fill up gaps. This year, I am really interested in stylish designer summer bags. I have my eye on a few designer bags already, and I am looking to get rid of some very old bags I have in my closet.

Stylish Designer Summer Bags

When it comes to designer bags, they cost a lot more than regular bags sold on the high street, so I like to shop around and ensure I am buying a designer bag that I would hold on to for many years. There are four things I look for in a designer bag –

Authenticity – I make sure they are original and not fake designer bags.

Colour – It has to in a pretty versatile shade that I can match it with other different pieces easily.

Good size – I like my bags to come in decent sizes so I can shove all sorts inside them, but I also like having some designer small bags for other occasions.

Affordability – Obviously I only go for bags and things in general that I can easily afford.

Here are some stylish bags I am looking at this summer:

Marc Jacobs Small Traveler Bag

This stunning bag by Marc Jacobs is such a beauty. I love the design a lot. The blue shadow colour is one of my favourites parts of the bag. I also love the size. I should be able to shove books, wallets and all sorts into this Marc Jacobs bag for a weekend away. It is also effortless chic and would be a nice addition to my bag collection. I can picture myself wearing this with a white t-shirt, a blue jeans and a pair of blue, white or black sandals.

This lovely bag also comes in black, red, slate green and beige. So there should be a colour for everyone. It currently retails at £180, which is budget friendly for a designer bag. Do you like this Marc Jacobs bag?

Marni Cellulose Shopping Bag

I love a good shopping bag and this gorgeous Marni Cellulose Shopping Bag ticks all my boxes. It comes in a lovely colour and handy size. I can shove all sorts inside it and it looks very stylish as well. It would be a great accessory for days at the library and when I am out and about shopping. I can see myself rocking this bag while wearing a nice blue pair of jeans, t-shirt and sandals. It would be a gorgeous look for sure.

This beautiful Shopping Bag by Marni also comes in black for those who prefer black handbags and it currently retails at £250. What do you think of it?

Chloe Daria Small Bag

I am a huge fan of the Chloe brand and this small bag right here is simply gorgeous. It comes in beautiful shade of sepia brown, and it also comes in a variety of shades from sweet beige to army green. I love the structured design and the many different compartments. It would look amazing with a dress on a night out.

If you like to spoil yourself, you can grab this beauty for £1, 331. What do you think?

These three stylish designer bags tick all my boxes and would be nice additions to my bag collection this summer. I love the different designs and each one of them would fill a gap in my bag collection.

Embroidery designs and files with Design Bundles

*Collaborative post.

I have always been interested in designing and creating things from scratch. Many years ago, I played around with the idea of becoming a fashion designer. That idea disappeared shortly after naturally. I realised I was not a natural when it came to sewing and designing pieces/accessories. The interest wasn’t really there either. I still remember when a good friend tried to get me into crotchet. She created many lovely little cardigans and blankets for the kiddies when they were babies, but I just wasn’t interested in those sorts of things at all. Fast forward a few years now, we are still in lockdown and there is a lot more time to do many things at home, and I know many people are playing around with baking, cooking, sewing, and a lot more at home. If you are interested in embroidery designs, you will find this post very useful.

Embroidery Designs

Embroidery designs have been around for a very long time and they are still quite popular. The easiest way to describe embroidery is as an art of decorating using materials like fabrics, pearls, beads, sequins, and quills, alongside a needle to apply thread. Embroidery designs are always very eye-catching and artistic. I find them very creative which is why they always catch my attention. You can easily spot embroidery designs on caps, hats, dresses, skirts, tops, blankets, coats, dress shirts, and many more. The designs always stand out so beautifully, which is why I love going for pieces and accessories with some embroidered pattern on them.

Embroidery file formats are the ways in which embroidery designs are saved in a software format or a machine format. Usually. you will need to have an embroidery machine and the right software to transfer files to your machine so you can use the designs. Before you purchase an embroidery design, you will need to find out which format will be compatible with your machine. When it comes to embroidery files, this is where Design Bundles comes in to save the day.

The Fashion Designer Dream

I once had a dream to be a fashion designer many years ago. Fashion and Style has always been my thing, so naturally I had a fashion designer dream. Along the way, I discovered I didn’t have what I needed to succeeded as a fashion designer. Loving fashion and creating fashion designs are 2 different things. I need to know how to sketch, sew, make clothing adjustments and more. Being a fashion designer is a dream for many young girls, but to succeed as a fashion designer, you need certain skills.

Life as  a fashion designer didn’t happen

Once I realised fashion designing was not for me, I moved over to fashion styling. I didn’t need the sketching or sewing requirement for a successful fashion designer. All I needed here was an eye and love for fashion. I found the London College of Style Styling Course very exciting. It was a distance learning course I took for a few months in 2012, and I graduated with a good mark. However, midway into the styling course, I realised it wasn’t quite what I want. The reality of my life as a fashion stylist wasn’t appealing so I decided to pursue the personal shopping route which I did for awhile.

The fashion styling journey led to a different destination

My dream of becoming a fashion designer then a fashion stylist led to the birth of Fashion and Style Police. Having a fashion blog was a requirement for the styling course at London College of Style. This blog started off as fashion blog required to finish off my course but it led to a whole new career. What this has taught me is that life is complicated and sometimes what we want is not what we need. It has also taught me that the destination we are aiming for is usually not where we end up. We end up where we are meant to be.

My love for fashion and style continues

I am happy where I am. Fashion and Style is still very important to me. I enjoy writing about fashion but the whole fashion designing/styling career no longer appeals to me. Life as a fashion designer won’t have worked for me long term if I am being completely honest. I have also stopped the personal shopping. I did that for some time and it worked great when it did but it is not a career I want for myself anymore.

I have gone through many career changes but every change takes me to a better place. I am about to embark on yet another change and this is a big one. Very different from anything I have ever done but it is so me. I will be shedding some more light on this career in the next couple of weeks, so keep reading.

Have you had any major career changes? How did you find it? I would love to hear your thoughts. Please drop your comment in the comments section below. Thanks for stopping by.
