Product Review: MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

MAC Studio Fix Picture

I am a MAC Cosmetics lover, as you should all know by now, so this review should come as no surprise. I have been using the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation for a couple of years on and off, and I can see myself using it for a very long time. This product is a foundation and powder in one, designed to be used dry. It creates a matte, velvety finish by absorbing the skin oils.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is a one-step powder and foundation that gives your skin a smooth, flawless, all-matte finish with medium-to-full coverage. Its long-wearing, velvety texture allows your skin to breathe. Studio Fix is available in a wide range of colors.

How to use: Apply to skin using a sponge or your desired brush, and blend. You can also blend with your fingertips.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS
  1. It provides great medium-full coverage, leaving my face feeling and looking smooth/flawless, hiding all skin discoloration, and blemishes.
  2. It stays on for hours, very long-lasting, and because I barely need to top-up so often, I usually have mine for a while.
  3. There are over 40 shades available so there is a shade for every one. I got mine in NW45, and it suits my skin tone perfectly.
  4. It is very affordable at £22.
  5. It is easily accessible. You can grab one in stores at Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, and online as well.

CONS
  1. Although it is a powder and foundation in one, I find that most of the time, I still need to apply a bit of the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation or a tinted mosituriser, before applying the Studio Fix, depending on the look I am looking to achieve.

Overall, I love the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, and I recommend it to anyone looking for the convenience of having a powder and foundation in one. It is a fantastic product, worth every penny, and I will be buying it again and again. You can watch my vlog here below.

Product Review: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

Hey ladies..It is Friday, and I have another MAC product to review. This time it is all about the Pro Longwear Concealer.

MAC Concealer Image

I only started using a concealer regularly in 2013, believe it or not. I still remember the day I went makeup shopping with a friend, we popped into The Body Shop, and she introduced me to her All in One Concealer, and I was stuck on it since day. It was only recently I decided to try another brand, that is how I came across this MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and I have fallen helplessly in love with it.

This product is a lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump.

I have used this concealer for quite a while now and I have quite a lot to say about it. Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. This concealer is very long-lasting. It stays on all day.
  2. It has great coverage. I use the NW 15 shade, and it covers scars, blemishes, and skin pigmentation perfectly.
  3. It comes in 16 shades, so there is a concealer for every one. Here are the shades for reference -Neutral Warm: NW15, NW20, NW25, NW30, NW35, NW40, NW45, NW50 and Neutral Cool : NC15, NC20, NC25, NC30, NC35, NC42, NC45, NC50
  4. It dries and sets pretty quickly, blending in beautifully with the MAC Matchmaster Foundation.
  5. It is great for my combination skin.
  6. No creases at all.
  7. The pump makes it easy to apply, and it is easy to control the amount that gets out as well, as you will be needing only a tiny bit most times.
  8. I love the matte finish this concealer creates.
  9. Oil, talc and paraben free, which is fantastic.

CONS

  1. The bottle is quite small, only 9ml, and it costs £17.50, so it is quite pricey.
  2. No SPF but you can get away with it if you use other beauty/skin products that do have some form of SPF.

I will be buying this MAC Pro Longwear Concealer again, and I recommend this product to any woman in need of a reliable concealer. This product is like magic in a little bottle. It is worth every penny, and it will definitely change the way you apply your makeup.

What do you think of product? Have you tried it before? What concealer are you loving at the moment?

Product Review: MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation

I am a MAC girl. The brand is so amazing. I adore most of their beauty products. They are one of the best in the market today, and I enjoy using them. So today, I bring to you the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation review, I am loving at the moment:

MAC Foundation Image

Now I have two different shades of the MAC Matchmaster foundation because the sales girl sold me the whole shade at first. Some of these makeup salesgirls are indeed clueless when it comes to makeup for the dark skin. Many of them still think all black women should use the darkest shade available, so if you are a coloured girl, keep your eyes wide open when testing makeup products, so you don’t end up with the wrong shade like I did.

Anyways, back to my story, so I was sold the wrong shade at the first, which is the foundation on the left and below – MAC Matchmaster SPF Foundation 9.0.

MAC Foundation 9.0 Image

It was way too dark on my face, so I went in search of another shade, and decided to settle for the MAC Matchmaster SPF in 7.0. Looking at it, I think the perfect shade for me is the shade in between these two, which should be the 8.0, but I wanted to still make use of the wrong shade I bought already, so I mix both foundations together to get the right shade, and that has worked fine so far. I use the dark foundation – 9.0,  to contour as well.

Here is the 7.0 shade below:

I was applying both shades on here.
