I am a MAC girl. The brand is so amazing. I adore most of their beauty products. They are one of the best in the market today, and I enjoy using them. So today, I bring to you the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation review, I am loving at the moment:
Now I have two different shades of the MAC Matchmaster foundation because the sales girl sold me the whole shade at first. Some of these makeup salesgirls are indeed clueless when it comes to makeup for the dark skin. Many of them still think all black women should use the darkest shade available, so if you are a coloured girl, keep your eyes wide open when testing makeup products, so you don’t end up with the wrong shade like I did.
Anyways, back to my story, so I was sold the wrong shade at the first, which is the foundation on the left and below – MAC Matchmaster SPF Foundation 9.0.
It was way too dark on my face, so I went in search of another shade, and decided to settle for the MAC Matchmaster SPF in 7.0. Looking at it, I think the perfect shade for me is the shade in between these two, which should be the 8.0, but I wanted to still make use of the wrong shade I bought already, so I mix both foundations together to get the right shade, and that has worked fine so far. I use the dark foundation – 9.0, to contour as well.
Here is the 7.0 shade below:
I was applying both shades on here.
M·A·C Matchmaster Spf15 Foundation. New Foundation technology using translucent pigments to enable a fully personalized finish influenced by the subtleties of your own skin`s undertone. Moisturizing demi-matte finish. Medium buildable coverage. Line-reducing soft-focus powders.
Here are my thoughts:
- I love the size. I have been using this for ages and it is worth every penny.
- I love the demi-matte finish.
- This foundation blends in beautifully and stays on all day.
- It provides good coverage. It covers all the black heads and pigmentation issues.
- It has SPF 15 which is fantastic.
- There is a foundation for every skin tone, as long as you keep your eyes open when testing in the shops, lol..
- It costs for £29 for a 35ml bottle so it is quite pricey, but so worth it.
What do you think of the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation? Which foundation are you loving at the moment?
Sound off in the comment section please.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
God I hate when the salesperson has no clue what their doing. It is the same for me, because I am not white nor brown- I am yellow- I either get sold a really pale shade that makes me look like a ghost or a muddy caramel colour that makes me look orange.
Lol…I know. It is so frustrating x
I love MAC products… but I don’t like salespersons to be such incompetents… I prefer choosing on my own.
Yea but sometimes you need their guidance so it is annoying when they are clueless.
I do love MAC products but not tried their foundation before, I love the NARS sheer glow foundation x
I need to try NARS sheer glow, heard a lot about that one too x
I’ve tried MAC foundation in store and really liked it but as you say it is rather pricey!
It is but so worth it x
I’ve never tried any MAC foundations as I never have time to travel to their counter (it’s quite far away) and I refuse to buy a £29 foundation online before swatching as I’m notorious for selecting the wrong shade! I am intrigued by this collection however and will keep an eye out for it next time I’m in the city.
Roxie | The Beautiful Bluebird
You should Roxie. It is a great foundation..
I have never used mac foundation but it’s definitely something I want to try. I don’t know if it can beat the estee lauder double wear foundation for me though x
I need to try the Estee Lauder double wear. Heard a lot about it x
Really?! Goodness me the reason these places have sales assistants is to help you get the perfect shade, what a shame such a wonderful product wasn’t sold well. I use Estee Lauder double wear too 🙂 H x
Yea a big shame. I need to get my hands on this Estee Lauder double wear x
I use and love mac products. The foundation are really good and like you advise I always open my eyes wide and follow up when they are being tried on. Anyway I know my right Shade now. Pricey but it is worth it. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for reading Osime x
It’s great to see they have a sunfactor in the product. Always a good idea.
Yes it is x
I’m a huge fan of MAC having used their products religiously for around 15 years. I’ve never tried a MAC foundation though – no idea why!
You should try it Colette. It is a fab product x
Interestingly, my daughter was sold the wrong shade for hr skin initially too. She adores MAC, it didn’t out her off and I think they rectified it with no problems. Kaz x
Ah so it happens regularly then. What a shame x
I like MAC a lot but I choose my ow products and never let them pick for me x
Ah I learn everyday x
So annoying that the sales assistant didn’t match you correctly! I’ve tried a few MAC foundations but they all slide off my face as I’ve got such oily skin xxx
Yea MAC products tend to be oily so not the best for oily skins xxx
I’ve never tried a MAC foundation despite trying many other things from them over the years, I always feel a bit overwhelmed by the choice!
You should Emily. You may like it x
I personally have used MAC and still do. Currently I am using NARS to give it a try and with all honesty both works great for my skin and prefer MAC as it is much more budget friendly. I hate it when I try to purchase and the salesperson is just clueless.

I’ve always loved Mac make up, especially their foundations. I’m not such a big fan of the price tag though!
Yea me too..Lol.
To be honest if a ‘trained’ member of the team sold me the wrong colour foundation for my skin I would be livid especially at that price and probably wouldn’t go back for seconds! I am using the No7 matchmake and I love it! Would recommend it to anyone, it even recommends what blusher and lipstick would suit you best.
