Outfit Post – Time for Spring Fashion

*PR sample and Affiliate links.

We were away for 2 weeks holidaying in London and Essex. The Kiddies were on holiday and we decided to make the most of the time we had. It was a fantastic holiday. We did all sorts of things and I am only just recovering from all the fun and excitement, which is why I have not been posting as often as I usually do. Entertaining 2 very busy children is a full-time job. I hardly had time to do anything else.

The holiday is over now, and the twins are back in school, so it is business as usual for me now. I took these outfit photos last week in Essex. The weather was good and I had a lovely garden to make use off. So I made the most of it. Time for some spring fashion photos.

The Cream Metallic Stripe Shirt

The cream metallic stripe shirt I have on is a new wardrobe addition. I got it some months ago but only just the chance to wear it, thanks to the warmer weather we are experiencing on and off. I like the top a lot. It is so my style. Easy to wear and style up or down. Everything else I have on is an “oldie”. I really like the pair of jeans I have. It works great with the cream metallic stripe shirt. It also fits like a glove which is just how I like my jeans.

I am excited spring is here at last. The weather is starting to warm up, and the days are now longer. I have many spring outfits styled in my head, and I can’t wait to really take off these layers and style them in real life. How is the weather at your end? Are you excited for spring fashion?

Figuring out your spring wedding outfit

*Collaborative post.

Spring has crept up on us, and if you’ve been lucky enough to get invited to a springtime wedding this year, you need to get your outfit planned soon! Spring can be a funny time for trying to work out what to wear — will it rain, will it shine? How cold will it be? You need to have options open for any eventuality, but you also want to still look the part.

To help you through this difficult balancing act, we’ve put together this guide for both womenswear and menswear to get you prepared for spring weddings.

An overview of Spring 2019 trends

We will first take a quick look at the fashion trends for spring this year. Many of these trends will apply to both men and women, so it’s worth taking a look at these first:

  • Minimalism — After chasing highly-embellished dresses, wedding trends are set to cool down to a more sleek, minimal look thanks to the Meghan Markle effect. Guests can take note of this too, and embrace the ‘less is more’ mentality for their outfits.
  • Eco-friendly themes — Sure, the idea of florals for spring brings the cutting tone of Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly to mind, but florals will certainly fit the eco-friendly theme set to take hold of weddings across the country. Couple this with some eco-friendly shopping and the minimalism trend and you’ll have crisp, smooth look without fiddly synthetic embellishments.
  • Coral colours — Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019 is ‘Living Coral’, so expect to see this warm, pastel hue cropping up in fashion and in wedding trends throughout the year. It’s certainly going to see its moment during the springtime, with its blossom-evoking undertones. Think coral-coloured ties to add a splash of colour, or coral shawls to cover-up against the cold.

Outfit inspiration for women

Take these spring trends with you as you decide on your wardrobe. Florals, as mentioned, are a tried-and-true essential for spring. You can opt for large or small floral prints; both are absolutely on-trend, and it’s just down to preference.

Pastel shades are a great choice here. Opt for floral prints, such as a printed Rebecca Taylor dress, using a shade close to the ‘Living Coral’ shade that’s set the theme of 2019 to make an effortless nod to the current trend. You can use this for dresses, skirts, shirts, or even as an accent with a coral-coloured accessory, like a thick bangle or coral-gemstone earrings.

Though we’re making use of the trends, you don’t need to restrict yourself. If you’re not a fan of dresses, an elegant jumpsuit can look so sophisticated, and it’s set to be a big trend at weddings throughout 2019. Wedding Wire are calling it a ‘fashion-forward style’ for guests, and the best part is that they can be dressed up or down to adapt to pretty much any dress code! When picking a jumpsuit, keep the shape simple and avoid too many embellishments for a really streamlined look. There’s also the catwalk-hot trend of coloured tailoring — that is, two-pieces sticking to one colour, in loose and light materials ready for spring. Nod to Pantone’s Colour of the Year with a pastel two-piece and you’ll have yourself the perfect spring wedding outfit.

A smart skirt paired with a floral, flowing wrap-style top is a safe bet. Keep your shirt looking formal with a pick from designers such as Rixo Clothing matched with a sophisticated pencil skirt. For shoes, there’s a trend gaining pace on Instagram for square-toed shoes. In particular, square-toed satin flats are having their moment on the catwalk and on social media, and they make a great addition to your springtime wedding outfit.

Want an easy way to look effortlessly put together? Consider a combo of wedding shoes and matching bags. Pick a colour, material, pattern, or all of the above and blend them through your choice of shoes and bag to really tie up your outfit nicely.

2 Things Men Should Remember When Dressing Up image

Outfit inspiration for men

Brides Magazine notes that for men, wedding wear has become a little more casual in recent years. But this is all set to change this year. That means a much more tailored look, and absolutely no to jeans and t-shirts, even if it’s a ‘casual’ dress code! Of course, as a guest, you don’t need to match the groom’s three-piece suit, but it can be a good option for layering. Spring can be a tricky one to predict, and a three-piece suit will let you add or remove layers as needed without compromising your look.

A good-quality white shirt that will stay looking great all day is, of course, the dream wedding outfit choice. Avoid a white jacket though, as you don’t want to be seen as trying to outshine the groom! Instead, opt for a light blue jacket to bring out the spring feeling. If you want to make sure your outfit is catwalk-approved, pick a double-breasted jacket — it’s set to be all the rage in spring this year, with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Burberry both showcasing their versions on the runways recently.

Even if the weather is nice, you need to keep your footwear smart; no sandals please. Instead, opt for a pair of smart men’s derby shoes— they go with pretty much any outfit, and are light enough to be comfortable if it’s sunny, and sturdy enough in the weather turns grey.

Give a subtle nod to the trends of the season through your accessories. A pastel-coral tie or pocket square can certainly pop for a springtime feeling. If you’re attending with a partner, this can be a cute way to match up without looking cheesy if you both have an accessory with the same colour on.

Follow these tips and you’ll be sure to put together the perfect spring wedding outfit for this year.

ASOS Top Shopping Tips

*Collaborative post.

ASOS (AsSeenOnScreen) are one of the leading worldwide online fashion retailers and target the 20+ market. We have compiled some of our top tips when it comes to shopping on ASOS to make your life as easy as possible.

Know Your Style

ASOS is a full of different styles, so before you go in, know what it is you are looking for otherwise you could get lost and be trying to navigate your way round the site for hours. ASOS is home to over 80,000 different products from a whole host of different brands.

Just make a note of different styles, and the specifics you are looking for. If you are wanting “black ripped men’s skinny jeans” then try that in the search bar, it’s likely to bring up the results you want straight away. You can use the tool bar to sort the range you are wanting, or to sort the different styles they offer.

Use Klarna Wisely

Klarna is one of the best things about shopping at ASOS. If you don’t know what it is, essentially it is a service used by ASOS and other brands to allow you to have 30 days to pay for the product your purchase. So, if you’re struggling towards the end of payday but really need that new dress, Klarna to the rescue.

You have to remember however to live within your means. If you know you’ve got a busy month next month, then maybe those £50 boots aren’t the best idea. It may feel like free clothes, but eventually you have to pay! If you’re struggling to understand how Klarna can benefit you, then you can get in touch with ASOS customer services team.

Sort by Size

There’s nothing worse than finding that perfect dress, and they’ve run out of your size. You can use the sort tool so that the results only show what is actually in stock in your size, to save yourself from the heartbreak.

The great thing with ASOS is they stock a whole variation of sizes, with a tall section and a plus-size section available if needed. It’s always a good idea to order a couple of different sizes to try on, as you can always send the wrong size back free of charge. You have a month to make sure you aren’t charged by Klarna.

Stick to your Budget

Not everyone can afford a new £100 pair of trainers, so make sure you know your budget before you go in. Maybe switch the range from low to high, starting with the cheaper items and working your way up. There really is some gold dust in the cheaper items, and it often brings up the sale items.

Don’t rule something out just because it’s cheaper than the budget you’ve set, you can either use it for an accessory or save it for next time!

Are you on Instagram? Follow #ASSEENATHOME

This is a great place to see what others are wearing, and you never know you might find the latest style that you can’t ignore.

It’s also a great way to see how a product looks before you actually go out and buy it. It saves the awkwardness of the product arriving, and it just doesn’t feel right.

They are some of our top ASOS shopping tips, if you take these on board before heading to the ASOSD website you are sure to find the outfit of your dreams.
