Do you suffer regularly from writer’s block? Have you ever felt panic when you have nothing to write about and can’t think of anything worth writing about? Sometimes circumstances beyond our control get in the way and we hardly have any time left to work on our blog, but most times we could struggle with new ideas especially when life gets in the way.
I have put together 30 blog post ideas to help give you a head start whenever you are lost for ideas. I hope you find them handy.
- Favourite blog posts of the week
As much as you would love more people read your blog posts, it’s also good to share blog posts written by other bloggers. This is not a way of driving readers from your blog. It’s more about sharing specific blog posts that you feel your readers will appreciate and learn from.
You can start by putting together a list of 5-10 of your favourite blog posts with a short piece on why you found it useful.
- Goals for the month
Sharing your monthly goals is a great way to keep you accountable as well as inspire your readers to set goals themselves. You can do a follow-up each week on how the monthly goals are looking.
- Quote of the day/week/month
A quote is only a couple of sentences long but they are loaded with inspiration. Pick a quote you love and write what it means to you. You can also write a list of quotes you love. They are always a great source of inspiration to your readers.
- Outfit of the day (OOTD)
I do this a lot on Fashion and Style Police. Sharing your outfits and why you like them makes awesome blog posts. My OOTD posts are usually very popular.
- Your childhood memories (Blast from the past)
This may sound a little strange but let’s face it, you must have learned a lot about life when you were younger. Use these memories as a source of inspiration or a means to teach an important lesson that you think your audience will find useful in their lives. To make it really fun, you can add a picture of you as a child.
This sort of blog post is actually quite popular. It’s a way to reminisce about your life and share with your readers the mistakes you have made and what you would have done differently if you were given the chance. This is a great way to touch your readers especially your younger audience who are still trying to find themselves in life.
- Why did you start your blog?
This is a great way to go back in time and share with your readers why you started your blog. It’s a nice way to guide aspiring bloggers or newbies who frequent your blog for inspiration. It also gives the opportunity for your readers to know how their favourite blog came into existence.
- Your best blogging tools
So you’ve had your blog running for a while and of course, you learned a lot of things about blogging. Why not share them with your readers? You can start off with the tools you use in your blog and what worked the best.
- Your favourite blog post
Now this is not exactly the same with “Favourite blog posts of the week”. Favourite blog posts is about your favourite blog posts on your blog. You could write about the best performing blog post and take it deeper by letting your readers know what made that blog post so popular.
- Roundups for the week/month/year
Roundups are the easiest blog posts to create. It can be about absolutely anything. You can make a roundup of advice from experts, fashion tips, and so on. It is just a list post that acts as a great frame of reference.
- Things you don’t know about me
Creating a post where you get to share something about yourself is a great way to establish a strong relationship with your readers. Write a list about some details about yourself that your readers don’t know about. Chances are that there will be some people who can relate with you.
- Share pictures of your workplace
This is a great way to get personal with your audience. Showing your audience a part of your life is a nice way to get them involved. Share pictures of your workspace and tell them why you arranged it the way you did and the must have items on your workspace.
- Your pet peeves
We all have them, don’t we? Share your list of pet peeves with your audience and let them know why they get to you.
- Question and Answer Posts
Most times you get emails from readers who ask you questions. Why not answer those questions with your readers? Let one blog post be an answer to a question. This way you get to help more people with similar problems.
- Challenge of the week/month/year
Challenges are a great way to keep your readers engaged. Just like your monthly goals, weekly or monthly challenges are a great way to stir your readers to action. Share your action steps on how you plan on meeting the challenge. You can also create follow-up posts.
- How you got over your epic failures
Blog posts sharing your experiences make great content. Share your failure and what you learned from them. You can also write about what you would have done differently if you could turn back the hands of time.
- What are your biggest successes
Your readers are always willing to learn new things. Share with them how you attained your success. You can go specific by stating action steps that they can help them immediately.
- What are your fears
We all have fears. Share your fears and how you were able to get over them or what you are doing to get over your fears.
- Your top productivity hacks
Who doesn’t like to be productive? Share your favourite productivity hacks and how they saved you from very sticky situations.
- Your top life hacks
Life hacks are those tips and tricks that helped you work effectively and live better. Share your life hacks and if you have got a story behind them, share it. That makes the blog post relatable.
- List of your favourite podcasts
I am loving podcasts at the moment, they are very popular right now. Recommend some of your favourite podcasts and what you like about these podcasts.
- List of awesome things you’ve done for the week/month/year
This is another way of sharing your experiences with your audience. Tell them about the activities that you tried out, how it made you feel, why you did them and what you learned at the end.
- List of monthly must haves
What are those things that you bought or got your hands on this month that you believe will be very useful for your audience? Share them with your audience and why you feel they are useful and why they should get their hands on them. You could also write about a particular product, service, or place in a review style.
- Interviews with people who inspire you
Interviews make great content. All they involve is for you to write the questions you asked and your guest’s reply. Interviews are great ways to share other people’s experiences with your readers and reach a wider audience.
- Top things that you would pack in your suitcase
Do you love traveling? Share some of the things that you would carry in your suitcase, and why you pack them.
- Your favourite places to travel
These posts act as great travel suggestions. Talk about your experience, the places you went to and why you would love to go back, or why you won’t be going back.
- Top things you can’t live without
Depending on what’s on your list, this kind of post works well as a way to make product suggestions. Make sure that you explain in detail why the things you listed out are important to you.
- Your fitness routine
Share how you keep fit. Write about your favourite exercises, diets and smoothies. You can also share your fitness schedule so that your readers can follow your routine.
- Your morning routine
The quality of your day is defined with how you start your day. Tell your audience what you do in the morning and how it has helped you improve the quality of your life.
- Your bedtime routine
How do you close for the day? Share with your readers the exact steps you take every night and how they have helped your life and why you do them.
I hope you are feeling inspired to write-up a few posts now. Good luck and happy blogging.
