For many, festivals don’t conjure images of ‘glamness’ but instead of muddy fields, portaloos and baby wipes instead of showers for three days. Therefore, it’s a good idea to carefully plan your outfit to ensure that even when you’re reapplying deodorant for the third time that day, you still look effortlessly glam. Here’s what to take with you:
The base layer
Simple is best when it comes to glam looks for festivals, women’s dresses with thin straps always look good and can be worn over band t-shirts or on their own when the sun comes out. Bardot neck summer dresses, featuring crochet cut outs, are another great way of nailing effortlessly glam styles. The cold shoulder is a little sexy while the crochet does all the work for you when it comes to style points.
The outerwear
You’re going to need a jacket at some point and while it might be tempting to just throw on an oversized hoodie, if you want to exude glam a leather jacket really is the only way to go. Tap into 2017 trends with a jacket featuring pretty, painted on floral designs or even patches stitched onto elbows and onto shoulders.
The oversized sunnies
Not only do they protect you from squinting in the sun, a pair of oversized sunglasses have the ability to effortlessly exude glamour when added to any outfit. Aviators are ideal for the cool girl vibe while Cat Eye sunglasses remind us of vintage days gone by. Expect to see plenty of round, John Lennon style sunglasses in oversized styles and a variety of coloured lenses for a more unusual but no less glamorous look.
The sequin addition
Nothing adds a little festival glam more than some sequin embellishment, so opt for a sparkly cami or even a mini dress to wear over frayed shorts and catch the eye of everyone when the strobe lights start for the evening shows. It’s an easy way to look effortlessly glam, even when your hair is a little disheveled from lack of brushing on day three and you aren’t wearing any make up while nursing a hangover by your tent.
The make up
Glitter enhances everything, so be liberal when applying this to your make up look. Eyes always look great with a little extra sparkle and glitter lips is a trend being embraced by beauty bloggers and influencers in 2017 – it’s easily achieved with your fave lipstick, a clear gloss and fine make up glitter, applied in that order.
If you don’t fancy going glam with glitter you can never ever go wrong with a red lip and cat eye – ensure you opt for an eyeliner that lasts all day; a gel eyeliner is the best option. Spritz make up fixing spray on after applying your look to keep everything in place, even when you end up hot and sweaty from dancing all night.
Add some of these pieces to your summer festival looks and you’ll be looking glam at every point throughout the day, no matter what event you find yourself at.
