6 Best Anti-Ageing Skincare for Women

Yesterday, while typing this 6 Best Anti-Ageing Skincare for Women post, I thought about how quickly the days have gone by. As I watched my kids play, my mind flashed back to the day they were born. They have grown so much since then and I have grown too.

Time waits for no one and as the years go by, it can start taking a toll on the skin. I noticed a couple of fine lines and I knew that I had to do something about it.

As women, we get engaged in so much work from our careers, pregnancy and childbirth, responsibilities at home and taking care of the family. All this can get you stressed out and add more to your years.

But who doesn’t want to look young and untouched by time? I’ve tried a couple of natural treatments that have helped my skin look radiant and youthful. Here are 6 of my favourite anti-ageing skincare treatments and routines.

Moisturize regularly

If you want to have youthful skin, it all starts with making sure that your skin is well-hydrated. Beautiful skin loves moisture, so you need to make sure that you moisturize regularly, especially on dry days.

Moisturizing your skin day and night will help you get rid of those fine lines which are often times the first signs of ageing.

Exfoliate

It’s not only the wrinkles what will make you look older. Exfoliating your skin at least once or twice a week will help transform dull skin. This is because exfoliating will help you remove the dead skin cells from your face and reveal new radiant skin.

But take note: don’t exfoliate too hard and if you have sensitive skin, I advice you make use of natural exfoliants like baking soda, brown sugar or oats. Also, make sure you apply a moisturizer each time you exfoliate.

Milk baths

Yes, milk can do wonders for your skin. Milk rejuvenates your skin. It contains Vitamin E which feeds your skin giving it that wonderful glow.

Add a few cups of milk to your bath water and soak yourself in the bathtub. If you don’t have a bathtub to soak in, you can dip a wash cloth or a ball of cotton into the milk and dab the milk on your face. Your skin will thank you for it, and you can thank me later!

Potato face pack

Who would have thought that there are so many benefits hidden within the potato? Potatoes help regenerate collagen which is responsible for skin elasticity. This will also help to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles.

To prepare a potato face pack, all you have to do is to extract the juice of a raw potato and apply the juice on your skin with a cotton ball. Allow the potato juice to stay on your skin for 15 minutes, then wash off with cool water.

Avocado mask

Avocados are known to have potent medicinal properties. It fights off free radicals and helps to boost the production of collagen. Collagen production helps to diminish wrinkles and fine lines.

For the avocado mask, mash an avocado and apply the paste on your face. Let the paste lie on your face for 10 minutes then wash off the paste and pat your skin dry with a towel.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice contains high levels of Vitamin C making it excellent for removing blemishes and age spots that appear over time with age.

To experience the benefits of lemon, squeeze its juice into a container and apply the juice on your face or only on the troubled area. If you have sensitive skin, make sure you dilute the lemon juice with water as the juice may be harsh on your skin. Leave the juice on your skin for 10 minutes and rinse off.

What do you think of these anti-ageing skincare tips?

  1. Great post and beautiful tips on anti aging skincare treatments. I have used potato and lemon juice before though not religiously but I enjoyed them. I will try the avocado and milk baths. I moisturize daily but would do more. Thanks for the lovely tips. Very helpful

  2. Great article. I was steeling myself for yet another rundown of products, and so relieved when your natural remedies appeared. Thanks for sharing, I hadn’t heard of the potato one before.

  3. Fab post as always Stella. I have not heard of the potato one so will be trying that this weekend as it’s pamper and face mask time.

I am just in the process of changing my skin products to natural homemade, partly down to cost as well as it being natural. I am finding it difficult to justify the cost of my skin products with tightening of the belts as the majority of us are having to do now.

I don’t want to compromise on quality so I decided to research natural homemade skin products. As my bought products run out I am replacing with making my own.

Your post is timely as I am trying various natural face masks to find the one which is best.

I researched through Google the skin products. Saved them to Pinterest and bought my products on Amazon and EBay to make them. It’s a fraction of the cost to make them and a few minutes of your time.

I am delighted with your post today. Thank you
