I started selling my preloved and some new items on eBay some years ago. Funny enough, I still remember how excited I was to make my first sale. Back then, I was so into selling on eBay. I still am, but not as much. We only have 24 hours in a day unfortunately, and I rarely have the time to list my items on eBay. It takes me ages to get the items sorted, photographed and listed. So I have reduced the time I spend selling online. I stopped selling items on eBay auctions, sticking to the buy it now option, which I find a lot easier to manage. I also wait to sell my entire stock before listing some more.
There are so many articles all over the web, on tips for selling on eBay. I know I have read loads and I found some of them very helpful. However, this post is all about tips I have picked up along the way. So this is purely from my experience from selling on eBay in the last couple of years.
Delivery service
Make sure you send your sold items with the cheapest and most reliable parcel delivery service. This is very important. If you use a crappy delivery service, your buyer would most likely get the item late, damaged or it may go missing in the post. Which would lead to a low rating/complaint. So do your research before you decide on which delivery service to go for. There are a couple of reliable parcel delivery companies that offer excellent service. One of them being Parcel2Go, and the other being Parcelabc, they both offer cheap international parcel delivery.
Excellent photos
I take all my product photos with my DSLR. This way I ensure my photos are quality. The buyers need to have a good look at the products they have interest in, and the only way is through the photos. Items with clear photos sell faster. It is also advisable to take as many photos as possible, showing different angles of the product. If there are any faults or signs of wear and tear, make sure you get this photographed as well, so buyers are aware of the true state of the item.
Clear Description
Writing a clear description of the items on sale is another great tip for selling on eBay. Make sure you include sizes, colours, design, features, how long you have had the item if applicable, faults/damage, the condition of the item, and any relevant information you would want to know before buying a product online.
Selling on eBay – Buy it Now Option
The jury us still out on this one, but I prefer the Buy it now option to the Auction option on eBay. Buy it Now means I can list items for a price I am happy with, and have 30 days to sell it. If it’s not sold in 30 days, I usually have it resisted for another 30 days for free. I prefer thus option as it is a lot easier to manage. Dealing with bids annoy me most of the time, so I rather sell online this way.
Do you run an online shop? How do you find selling on eBay? Do you have any tips to share?
