Our Stay at Novotel Hotel Sheffield

We got the lovely opportunity to spend some nights at Novotel Hotel in Sheffield last week thanks to Red Letter Days. It was our first time visiting Sheffield and we had a lovely time. The road trip was fun; the kids had been looking forward to it and so have we. It was just under 2 hours, so not too long. We found the hotel quickly thanks to Google Maps.

Checking in and first impressions

Getting to the reception to check in was a bit tricky as the lift was out of service, but thankfully the lovely ladies assisted us in getting our boxes up the stairs. Checking in was quick. We got all the information we needed and the ladies at the reception desk were quite helpful. The reception hall is beautifully decorated and very spacious. The kids enjoyed playing around with the interactive board game table. There is also a section for children with books and toys, which I think is great.

Our Family Room

The room was a decent size. The beds were a nice and very comfy. All the basic amenities were in the room except air conditioning. We had to request a table fan from the reception because it got a bit stuffy. I was also not a huge fan of the interior decor in the room. It looked like it needed an update but I liked the fact that there was a fridge and coffee machine available. Also, the toilet is separate from the bathroom which is so handy when you have kids. The WIFI was also very reliable. We didn’t have any problems using it.

The Staff

The workers were truly amazing. They always had a smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always happy to help and they all made our stay at Novotel Hotel even more memorable.

Breakfast

The breakfast was good. It was a buffet and we all enjoyed it. It was quiet most of the time, just the way I like it. We pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves, I guess because it was the bank holiday weekend.

The Facilities

I didn’t get to use any of the fasciities but M did. He had fun swimming and even used the steam room which he loved. I took a look at the pool and it looked amazing. I didn’t have swimming wears for myself and the kiddies so we couldn’t take a dip, but it looked really inviting. I wish we had our swimwear with us.

Location

The location of the hotel is in the middle of the city centre so we have access to all the tourist spots in the city. We visited a few places and there were many things for the kids to do. I am glad we got to finally explore Sheffield.

Overall we enjoyed our time at Novotel Hotel Sheffield. It was a fun trip with a lot to do in the city. I will be writing up posts on what we got up to, so look out for more travel posts on Fashion and Style Police.

The New Generation of Scooters

Scooters have become very popular both in the kiddy world as well as the adult. You can even argue that they are now more popular than bikes! Almost every child wants a scooter if they don’t have one. The kids that do have scooters are asking for an upgrade. You just need to go for a walk around to see how popular scooters they are. Many kids even ride their scooters on school runs instead of walking. It is now a cool way to get the kids out and about, which is why they are a hit with kids.

My kids love riding their scooters. They have been busy riding their scooters in the neighbourhood this summer holidays, and they are now professionals on them. I enjoy watching them ride back and forth while I catch my breath on a bench in our local park. It’s a great way to get them moving in the outdoors.

Adults have also tapped into the scooter world. I now see many people riding their scooters and I think it is a fantastic way of getting around. This allows the it to reach around 27mph, with the removable battery giving a range of around 37 miles on a single charge. It is definitely one to take a look at if you are thinking of buying an electric scooter. 

 

With the prices of electric scooters and the fact that they are used on public roads, you should get them insured with a reputable scooter insurance company. Insurance is for your own protection as well as others so this is a must have if you intend to ride on public roads.

Product Review – Indigo Herbs Papaya Seed Oil

Hello September! The weather has done a complete 360 in the last few days. It is now a bit chilly with the endless rain and I can smell Autumn. I love taking extra care of my skin in the autumn months to get it ready for the harsh cold weather we experience in winter. Winter can leave my skin really dry so I like to ensure I get my skin ready for that. I recently started using this Indigo Herbs Papaya Seed Oil (Cold Pressed) and I really like it. The Latin name for the oil is Carica papaya, and the oil is extracted using the cold pressing method. It is my first time of using a cold pressed oil and I am loving it.

Here are my thoughts on this Indigo Herbs Papaya Seed Oil –

 

PROS
  1. I love the texture of the oil. It is very light and non-greasy.
  2. The packaging is compact which makes it easy to pop in a handbag or luggage to take on holiday. I also like the fact that the oil comes with an expiry date as most skincare products don’t.
  3. It brightens skin’s complexion and leaves the skin very moisturised.
  4. This oil can be used in many ways. I use it as a massage oil. I also use it in the bath sometimes. It can also be used in homemade, natural skin and hair preparations.
  5. The oil is fragrance free and easily absorbed into the skin.
  6. I like the price tag of £13.99 for a 100ml bottle. That is super affordable.
  7. It is Vegan.
  8. This oil is handcrafted in Somerset UK, so you can be rest assured it is great quality.

 

CONS

None.

This oil is naturally anti-inflammatory and for external use only. It is rich in antioxidant vitamins and phytonutrients.

Overall, I really like this Indigo Herbs Papaya Seed Oil and that’s why there are no cons. I can’t fault it in anyway; it is perfect for my skin and it is super affordable. What is there not to like?  I love how it feels on my skin and I can see myself using this massage oil for a very long time. It is definitely worth trying.
