How to buy cheap dresses online

The warmer months are on the way and it is time to start think of spring/summer outfits. I love wearing dresses in the spring/summer months. The fact that I can show off my legs without tights is amazing after months of wearing layers. Dresses are super easy to style in the warmer months. I like to have quite a few dresses to wear on a daily basis when the weather allows me. Which is why I am always on the lookout for cheap dresses online. When it comes to most things, you do get what you buy for. So if you buy cheap, you get cheap. However, that isn’t necessarily the case when it comes to buying dresses. It is possible to buy cheap dresses online and get decent pairs for your little change.

I love buying quality items so I tend to spend more usually because I wear my pieces for years and years to come. But sometimes, I just want to shop for cheap dresses to wear in the summer. I also love shopping for cheap dresses for girls as well, for my little diva.

Here are some ways you could go about buying quality but cheap dresses online –

Shop the sales

This is the first way to go about shopping for anything online. It is always sensible to target the sales for items you have on your Wishlist. For cheap dresses, you can get loads online whilst the sales is on. Many high street stores have huge sales on and off all through the year. I buy many of my summer dresses online during the sales. It is great because I could save over 50% of the initial RRP. Shopping the sales is the first way to buy cheap dresses online.

Shop tried and tested brands

When shopping online, you should be very careful and shop only on websites you have successfully shopped on before. I avoid unknown brands online to avoid any surprises. Many of these new brands will send you pieces that look nothing like what they have photography on their website. So do be mindful of that while shopping online. Also, buying from tried and tested brands means you will buy the dresses in the right size as well. Many of us have different sizes from shop to shop. This is easily taking care of when you shop with brands you know already.

Go for pieces you can style in different ways

It makes to shop for dresses you can style in different ways. That way you get more wear out of them. I love items I am able to dress up and down. That way I can wear it on a casual day out and on a date as well. Buying dresses that can’t be styled in different ways or worn to various places means it is likely to get buried in your wardrobe for months.

If in doubt, read reviews

This is where consumers and fashion bloggers come in. If you are unsure of a particular dress or brand, always look out for reviews. That way, you get to read an unbiased (hopefully) review and can decided if you want the piece or not. A quick Google search with the dress and brand details will likely bring you up to speed.

There is a Huge Gap in the Hair Care Industry for Women of Colour

I have noticed a trend with haircare brands. Some of them start off with catering to natural hair for women of colour, but along the way, they start popping up on the high street and catering to every hair type. I know it all boils down to making as much profit as possible and this is easily done when you are on the high street and caring for all hair types. But the reality of the matter is, we all have different hair types. Women of colour tend to have dry, coarse, brittle hair, and there are even still different hair types among women of colour. So using haircare products created for “everyone” doesn’t really work for our type of hair. Which is why it is super frustrating that our hair type is pretty much overlooked in the hair industry. You just need to read interviews like this one on Forbes to get the full picture.

Creating a Haircare Range for Women of Colour

There is a huge gap in the market for haircare products for women of colour. The kind of hair oils and creams I need to keep my hair soft, shiny and healthy are not what I can easily pick up on the high street. Certain ingredients won’t work on my kind of hair and some may even damage it altogether. I have been thinking of creating some haircare products specially for natural afro hair. Over the years, I have used all sorts of haircare products and many of them were not great for my hair type (I am a 4C). Which is why I decided to start creating my own hair oils and creams. I am still working on the potions and testing them out. So it is still all a work in progress. I love the fact that I am able to create and I am looking forward to what the future brings.

Now to the main question behind this post; What is your main hair concern? Is it growth, dryness, texture? What do you think about the huge gap in the haircare industry for women of colour? Do tell.
