OOTD: Blue is the New Black

I have always loved blue, especially the navy/midnight blue shade. I think it is the closest shade to black, a more fancy black if you like. Blue is the new black!

It is the season of dresses, and I am wearing a Navy Blue Chiffon Embellished Short Dress by Quiz Clothing. This stunning blue dress is one of Quiz Clothing’s Occasion Dresses and I think it is a true beauty.

I collaborated with Quiz Clothing to showcase the brand’s new bridal range. I was paired with a blogger – Sarah from Let Them Be Small, and she choose the lovely dress, shoes, clutch and bracelet for me. I love them all, and I think Sarah has a great taste.

I really like this dazzling dress. It is perfect for the party season, a great piece to wear to a wedding or even dinner date. The detailing on the dress is amazing. You can tell a lot of thought was put into designing it. The diamante embellished waist is simply stunning. This dress is definitely a party essential.

The sparkly accessories finished off the look beautifully. I love the Silver Diamante Mesh Courts Shoes. It looked amazing paired with the dress, and was super comfy too!

I really like the sparkly jewellery and accessories I had on here. Wearing the shoes was like stepping into glamour. The mesh outer, embellished with diamantes, these courts and high shimmer heel, helped create the perfect footwear for this look.

The Silver Glitter Envelope Clutch Bag is also a great accessory for this look and any party outfit. I love the glitter fabric with silver detailing, there is something so glam about it. And the Silver Diamanté Cube Clip Bracelet with Diamantes arranged in a chain style bracelet, looks really great. Apart from it being a beauty, I found it easy to put it on and take off.

The Wooden Watch Trend

Many years ago, there was nothing like a wooden watch on my Style radar. I only started seeing them around a few years ago, and then I started to pay attention to the trend. I think the wooden watch trend is going to be around for a very long time, if not forever.

I find wooden watches very minimal and stylish. They speak volume in a low voice, and I love that about the watches. It does not bling bling, but it screams quality in a minimal way.

I have had my eye on some quality wooden watches for some time now, but not had the opportunity to own any. But I plan on changing that real soon. My love for quality accessories is a biggie for me, so I like to keep things fresh.

Here are a few wooden watches by Tense Watch, I am currently lusting after at the moment –

This Vermont Wooden Watch from the Hybrid Collection is an amazing piece. I love the gold dial and wooden design. It is such a beauty. Although this is a men’s watch, I like it! I tend to like men’s watches more than women’s watches for some odd reason. I guess you can say, I like to have my watches looking big, bold and masculine.

 

Hudson

This Hudson watch is another beautiful piece. It has a wood and metal case on a wood and metal band, and a circular face. I think it is a lovely looking everyday kind of watch. I love the walnut and silver design so much. It is also a men’s watch but I don’t care, I love it!

This unisex Hampton watch is a true beauty. I love the simplicity of it. I also love the fact that is made from 100% recycled or reclaimed wood, just like all the other Tense wooden watches. They are all also hypoallergenic and adjustable in size, which is fab for people like me with tiny wrists, but would still want to rock oversized watches.

Style Icon – Nick Cannon

The style icon today is the stylish Nick Cannon. For those who do not know, Nicholas Scott “Nick” Cannon is an American rapper, actor, comedian, entrepreneur, record producer, radio and television personality.

Nick Cannon is famous for being the lead act in the movie Drumline, and he is also famous for being once married to the talented and beautiful Mariah Carey. The couple were so in love, Nick even got a tattoo of her name ‘Mariah’ written boldly on his back, but has since had it removed. In other to get rid of the tattoo, he got a massive crucified Jesus on the top of it, which looks good on him. He is so lucky that there are now effective ways to get rid of tattoos, or he would have been left with the name of his ex on his back for life. Can you imagine that? That would suck so bad. I wonder why these celebs (and people in love in general) never learn. Having the name of your lover on your body is a very bad idea, because you never know what would become of your love.

I do hope Nick and Mariah get back together. I think they look good as couple, and I like them together. Their twins are super gorgeous and they make a great team. Rumour has it that they are back together, but on the down low and are looking to get married again, so fingers and toes crossed for them.

Nick Cannon’s style is so cool, and that is the reason why he is my style icon today. His style is daring, fun and eccentric. He has the charisma and charm to look good in anything, and he knows it.
