The colour black is always in vogue, regardless of the fashion season or where you are in the world. Trends may come and go, but black is always in style, or so it seems. The colour is constantly in the shops, and on the catwalk, all year. It is a prominent colour in the wardrobe of most fashion conscious men and women. Many fashion bloggers, fashion designers and style icons like Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe, and Audrey Hepburn, are usually seen rocking all black outfits, and who would blame them, black is a very powerful colour.

Dressing in all black is often perceived as a strong, stylish, fashion statement. It is classic and timeless, and the true style queens now how to work it. It takes confidence to wear all black and look good. There is a thin line between wearing all black, and looking stylish, and wearing all black, and looking grumpy.

I love anything black. Monochrome pieces and accessories are also my favourites. I find them versatile, super flattering, and easy to style. I love the fact that I can wear the same classic black dress to the office, to a restaurant and to an event. I attended a bloggers event with Propellernet and Premier Inn last year, and I remember thinking long and hard of what pieces to wear for the 2 day event.  I wanted to dress formally, but I didn’t want to stand out too much. It was my first bloggers event and all, so I was going in there blind, not sure what to expect. I just obeyed the fashion golden rule – ‘If in Doubt, Wear Black’, and it worked. I settled on a black fitted Next dress for the first day, and a black Next top and skirt for the second day (Yes, I love Next), and I looked stylish and chic, but not over the top, which was the look I was going for.

Most of my pieces and accessories are in black. I only started adding some colour to my wardrobe some years ago, there was a time I had only monochrome clothing and accessories, but a bit of colour is required every now and again. Whenever I have an event to attend, and I can’t think of what to wear, I just throw on a black outfit, and it is yet to fail me. If in doubt, just wear black.

According to ‘Allure’ magazine, she had her arms, legs, bikini line, and underarms done, and she told the magazine – “Laser hair removal, to me, is the greatest invention of life. Laser hair removal should be a requirement [for hairy women, like my mom].”

Another Kardashian obsessed with the hair removal treatment is Khloe Kardashian, she followed her big sister’s footsteps and had her body hair ‘lasered’ out, including the hairs on her toes on their famous reality TV show – Keeping Up With The Kardashians, earlier this year. We all saw how happy she was with the results.

Victoria Beckham is another celeb in love with the hair removal treatment. She believes the procedure is simply amazing. She was quoted in the issue of ‘Allure’ magazine saying:

“Laser Hair Removal is amazing. You can go back for little touch-ups if you do see little hairs appearing, but I’ve been very lucky that I haven’t had to.” “That was one of the best tips that Eva Longoria ever gave me.”

These women stepped up their fashion game in 2014 and have become a force to reckon with in the fashion industry. Here are my top ten fashionistas of 2014 in no particular order:

Mrs West’s fashion sense saw a change this year. I have a feeling this new style has something to do with her new husband. Whatever it is, I am loving it. Keep it up Kimmy.

2. Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o came into the fashion spot light this 2014 and I see her being in it for a long time. She steps out of her comfort zone and wears interesting, stylish pieces every time. She is definitely a fashionista.

This list won’t be complete without the Duchess of Cambridge on it. The whole world has watched and copied Kate Middleton’s style ever since she stepped as Prince William’s second half. We are all in awe of how effortlessly chic she is. Kate Middleton is a true fashionista.

Beyonce is always on my fashionista list of the year. I can’t help myself, I love her style, her carriage and her music. She rocks my world. Beyonce can put on trash and make it look cool.

Her wedding pictures broke the Internet and there is no stopping Solange. Beyonce’s little sister has been a fashionista for years now. I wish I could take a peep into her wardrobe .
