Why You Should Go On a Summer Holiday

If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police for a while now, you would know how much I love travelling. And how I find the time to travel every year, especially during summer. I find it the most enlightening, refreshing and educative activity that anyone could ever engage in.  Many people I know have never left the town they were born in, and I find that shocking. These people have never travelled all their lives for various reasons. But many of them do feel like traveling is a waste of time and money. They don’t know what they are missing. So this why you should go on a summer holiday post should open their eyes to why they need a good break every now and again.

Why you need a holiday image

For those who have not done much travelling, I want to challenge you today to take a trip. You don’t necessarily have to travel far away before you can experience the benefits of travel. Going to a neighbouring town is just as good as flying to a country on the other side of the world.

If you think that going on holiday is a waste of time and money, then you’re absolutely wrong! I can assure you that ever since I started travelling, I have been more open-minded and more appreciative of people and their various cultures. It’s really exciting! The adrenaline rush I get before and during a holiday is second to no other.

If you’re still a little skeptical, then here are some reasons why you should book a holiday.

To learn about different cultures

There’s nothing like experiencing first hand another country’s culture. Let’s face it, when you the country you live is all you have ever known then it becomes tempting to believe that where you live is all there is. There is a world out there with people of diverse cultures. It gives you an opportunity to know how other people live their lives and what their values are.

When you go on holiday you get the chance to be completely immersed in the lifestyle of a different culture than your own. You tend to develop this deep respect for diversity.

Going on a summer holiday gives you the opportunity to take time off to relax

As educative as going on holiday is, one of the key reasons why people go on holiday is to relax from a whole year of work and stress. Sitting on the sandy beach, going on a hike through nature or going sightseeing is a nice way to unwind and take your mind off work. It’s exhilarating and at the end of your holiday to end up feeling refreshed, and ready to take on the world.

To open you up to new perspectives

This is by far, the most fruitful part of going on holiday. Going on holiday makes you open-minded. When you are on holiday, you get the chance to see, live and experience things that are totally different from what you are used to. This challenges you to think wide and to open you to new possibilities.

Any time I go on holiday, I find myself filled with bursts of inspiration. My creativity levels are high and I feel more energized.

Summer Holiday present the best opportunity to spend quality time with your family

If you have ever been looking for the right time to spend quality time with your family, then going on holiday is the best option. When you are on holiday, you are far away from anything that will keep you away from your family. That is a wonderful time to bond with your family, and have some fun.

Where are you off to this summer?

Holidaying in Muscat Oman

Still on the Middle East mini tour, after spending a week in Dubai, we went off to spend a weekend in Muscat, Oman. We have friends over there, so it was nice to catch up and explore the lovely city. Muscat is a beautiful conservative city. It is nothing as fancy as Dubai, but it is worth a visit if you are around the area.

We stayed over at Raddison Blu hotel, which was fab. We were hardly ever in the hotel because we were too busy trying to see the entire city in 48 hours, but the room was dead comfy when we needed it.

Muscat was very warm, it was over 38 degrees most of the time, but not as warm as Dubai. The kids had an amazing time. We visited many child friendly parks, one of them being Funtazmo in Oman Avenues Mall. It is the largest indoor family amusement centre in Oman. There were all sorts of games and rides, to keep the adults and children busy. We had a lovely time there.

It was 1 ride after the other for us. There was no dull moment here at Funtazmo, the kiddies didn’t want to leave. I even got on a few rides myself, screaming my lungs out as usual!

After spending a few hours here at the mall, we visited a few other shopping malls, markets, restaurants and the famous Al Qurum Natural Park (all in 48 hours). We visited the park at night, and got on even more rides with the kids. It was an amazing experience I would never forget.

I was too busy with the rides to remember to take some photos at the Al Qurum Natural Park, but the memories will stay with me forever!

Holidaying in Dubai

I am back from our Middle East mini tour. We visited Dubai and Oman, and we had an amazing time. I am still recovering from the excitement, trying to get back into the swing of things. I came back to a mountain of work, hundreds of emails, and the works, and I still have a suitcase to unpack (my least favourite job in the world), but I have decided to do that some other time. Right now, I need to blog!

I will be telling you more about our visit to Muscat, Oman, in my next travel lifestyle post, but for now, it is all about the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Dubai. This is my third time visiting the amazing country, and I am so in love with it. There is always something to do, something new to look forward to. Dubai is full of excitement and screams luxury.

Although, the weather was boiling hot at over 40 degrees while we were holidaying, we still managed to have a good time, with plenty of water, suncream and sunhats! It is a summer holiday to remember forever!

We spent most of our days exploring the Jumeirah Beach Resort. We stayed over at DoubleTree Hilton Jumeriah Beach, and it came with a private beach, which we visited almost everyday.

The kids had a blast splashing in the amazing cool kids swimming pool and they also made the most of the beach with their sand castle toys. It was a perfect summer vacation for the family; a holiday I would never forget.

I have been busy sharing snaps from Holiday on my social media platforms, so free feel to play catch on them, and let me know what you think.

It was a relaxing break, that was urgently needed. And now I feel ready to take on the rest of the year. I am looking forward to my next Dubai trip. Hopefully, I won’t have to wait too long.
