Top Holiday Destinations

I am badly in need of a proper holiday. It has been a busy year so far, and a nice mini break is already needed. I have a few holiday destinations in mind, and I need to get planning. I am hoping to visit 3 countries this year as I did last year. Last year, I visited Italy in January, and Dubai and Oman in summer. I am not 100% sure of which countries I want to visit this year, but I am hoping they will be as much as fun as my holidays were last year.

Here are 3 holiday destinations I have in mind –

Iceland

I never really wanted to visit Iceland until some years ago. It has become a very popular holiday destination, and I now badly want to visit it. I would love to go ice-climbing in Iceland one day. I took some ski lessons last year with the family last year, and planning on having some more ski lessons this year. I have heard a lot of good things about ski lessons les menuires, so will be checking the snow school out later in the year.

Learning to ski professionally has always been a dream of mine. I hope it becomes a reality one day.

New York

I have never been to New York – The Big Apple before, but I plan to visit really soon. I have heard a lot about this amazing city, and I can’t wait to see it all for myself. It also sounds like a lovely winter destination. Especially if you are after the cold temperature, as I hear it gets really cold in the Big Apple. Even colder than in London.

New York is definitely a romantic winter destination for love birds, and a great all year travel destination too!

Los Angeles

Visiting this Southern California city is high on my travel list. Escaping to sunny Los Angeles would be an amazing idea right now as it is painfully cold in Cheshire.

I have always wanted to visit Los Angeles, thanks to the many reality tv shows filmed in the city. God knows I have seen loads. It would be great to visit the Disneyland park over there and experience the Hollywood city. There is a lot to see in this city and I am seriously looking forward to the day we would make a trip down.

It is quite a distance, so not sure this trip will be happening anytime soon with the kids. Maybe when they are a little older.

What travel destinations do you have in mind for 2018?

OOTD – Autumn Street Style

I have not posted an outfit post in a while. I was called out the other day by a reader, and I realised I have seriously neglected my personal style category on Fashion and Style Police. There is really no excuse. It is down to pure laziness but I promise to be better. My focus has been on writing, but I need to remember the big picture. Outfits are a huge part of the big picture. So with that out-of-the-way, say hello to my latest outfit post – Autumn Street Style.

I got this colourful kaftan while holidaying in Oman in the summer. I wore it for the first time some days ago, and I love how comfy it is. It is one size, and has an adjustable belt, which is so handy. I have fallen in love with this kaftan. I wish I got a few more. It is great for the autumn season too!

Everything else I have on is an Oldie but a Goldie. I don’t shop all the time but when I do, I like to buy quality, and this is because I think it is cheaper in the long run to buy quality pieces and accessories. They last longer, which works for me. I don’t have the money or time to keep shopping every season. So I rather spend that more on an expensive pair of jeans or shoes, than a cheap version, only to have it fall apart after a few wears.

I  loving autumn so far. It is getting colder, especially in the mornings and at night, but our heating isn’t on yet, so I guess it isn’t that bad. I am also looking forward to the layering trend; the boots, tights, scarves and light layers rocks my style world.

OOTD: Casual Style

I took these photos the other day in London. The weather was nice and I was in the mood for some outfit photos. I am loving the casual style look this summer. I find it dead comfy and so easy to style. It literally takes me minutes to put an outfit together, and as a busy mum of 2, every minute counts.

I need my outfits to be totally comfortable, but yet very stylish! The kids are on summer holidays for the next few weeks, so that means we are super busy, trying to make the most of what we have left of summer (weather permitting), and juggling all sorts. Life is incredibly busy at the moment, but I won’t have it any other way.

How to Rock the Casual Style Look

Here are 2 style tips I stick to –

Focus on the Accessories

Keep everything else cool, and focus on the accessories. In my case, I am drawing all the attention to my sandals and my sunnies and it works. For you to get the Casual Style look right, your accessories have to do the talking. So scarves, sunnies, hats, footwear, bags, should be the focus, and not the actual outfit. And not all at once. I see some people rocking their accessories collection all in 1 outfit. That is not a good look.

Stick to a maximum of 2 colours

For you to get the casual styling look right, you should stick to a maximum of 2 clothes (not counting black or white). Anything more would be a little too much for a casual look. I would also avoid colour blocking for a when it comes to nailing a casual style, and I rather opt for monochrome colours as they are safer and easier to style casual.
